Nipun Khanna's Review On RIMT College Of Architecture, Fatehgarh Sahib

I took the NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) and obtained the score 80 / 200 . I appeared once again for the examination in the same year and scored 100/200 so average was calculated as 90.

Course is pretty good, it naturally builds up your interest towards it. Not that difficult but requires great deal of hard-work . It requires case study of building needed to be designed and drawing sheets. Students are greatly helped by the college for case study and research process.

Placement and job opportunities are not defined by the college for Architecture course. This could be considered as a draw back . Although the students who fail to find a decent job are helped by the college to find one. But many students that gets degree from this institute are already working well.

Shilp masters - an all rounder event that takes in consideration the studies and the cultural events. Teachers day - for students to show there cultural skills of dance, singing, etc. And fun games for teachers. Blood donation camps : held once every year.

Fee structure is quite reasonable as per our course. Fee is nearly 70 thousand with 69000 college fee and 30000 hostel (non AC). This is cheaper than many of the other colleges and of same course and hence is very reasonable. Other expenses may include trips, examination fee , etc.

I haven't availed any scholarship provided by the college and don't have much knowledge about it either. Loan facilities are not provided by the college and is a big drawback.

Gender ratio in good, both girls and boys are almost in the same ratio. Campus life is healthy. Sports and indoor games facilities such as basket ball, football, cricket, table tennis , badminton, volleyball , etc are provided , gym facility is also there, extracurricular activities such as cultural programs, robotics also take place.

Hostel rooms are quite good with enough space and cleaned regularly by the cleaning staff. Pest control also takes place once every month. Hostel provides both AC rooms (36000/-) and non AC rooms (30000/-) . Non AC rooms are available in 3 seater as well 2 seater with same rates. Food in mess is good but yet needs to be improved.

Final semester Exams are held twice a year and are held in drawing studios or lecture halls with CCTV camera and AC facility and hence it is very comfortable to give an can with a peaceful mind. But in the drawing studios, condition of tables yet needs to be improved.

I migrated from another college in 2nd year to RIMT, as it was recommended by a friend. I went to the campus in the month of August and got the form from them. After the form was filled , it was immediately submitted and got the admission confirmed within nearly a week.

Faculty is qualified enough with most of the teachers with a master degree of the course, and some are very helpful while others let's the students do most of the work for some subjects to learn how to research on our own. Both kind of teachers make quite a good faculty and hence is pretty helpful.
