Remarks
I had applied for St Joseph, Christ University, and Jain University. My reason for choosing Jain university over others was mainly on the placement opportunities and the course of international finance and accounting. The basic mark required to do your PG is 50% in your UG. After I got selected through MAT into Jain university I had an interview conducted online because of Covid and got selected.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course I chose was international finance and accounting which is accredited to ACCA. The faculty are highly qualified and experienced with too much knowledge from the books and the corporate world which is a major plus point. The exams we had were moderate from the difficulty point of view but more focused on practical oriented.
Internships Opportunities
The internship companies that come to college are not that great. Companies come in they want students of any specialization and make finance students do HR specialization work. The college might need to find us better internships.
Placement Experience
The placements are amazing as you see that our college is a tier two college and still improving the highest package the student secured was about 32 lakhs per annum and the average is about 16 lakhs per annum. Stats wise those are pretty good numbers.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is one downside of the university that there is no reduction in fees. There has been a time where you will feel that you are paying for nothing. Being an alumnus of the university I see that it's worth paying the fees when you see the companies coming for placements and the package they offer.
Campus Life
We had many fest's during the time but the bad part was that it wasn't good enough as we had most of our college life online due to the pandemic. One month of offline class was very much fun as you can learn better in class than at home.
