Remarks

Very strict disciplined college with lot of experience.

Entrance Preview

Anna Universitiy entrance exam. Cut off 252 out of 300 in 1998, Got Mechanical Engg with 1 seat left. One of my friend was studiying and hence refered as a good college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Mechanical engg with thermodynamics, Fluid mechanics, Thermal Engineering, Strength of materials, CAD, Theory of machines, Mechanics of machines with electives like Computational fluid dynamics, Finite element analysis, etc.

Placement Experience

4

There was no campus interview in 2002. However i've managed to get off campus and joined in september 2002 at a company called Ucal fuel systems in Maraimalai nagar but recent times it seems that many companies are coming for campus interview.

College Events

1.5

Culturals were not so good. Just like in school level. Sports used to be ok for the people who were good from their school level. Every year there used to be a competition called TIES for which we used to participate. Those times our college is famous for our weight lifting team.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Those times fees is very normal as per the govt norms. Out college has a pricipal of no capitation fees, Bus extra at a normal fees. Lunch and canteen extra and compulsory.

Fees and Financial Aid

I've not heared about any scholarship. but since our college is a minority college they used to give special schoarship for the poor in their community.

Campus Life

2.5

There used to be 60-40 ratio in gender. Very good people to move with. In the first year we were mingled since there was no department in that year. So it was a good combination of people and funny all the four years.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel used to be normal. I was a day scholar and hence dont know exactly the facilities. However my friends used to complain some times that the food is not good, etc.

Alumni/Alumna

No such real fruitful alumini exists. I've not been called for any alumini meetings. I hope that time there was no effective communication systems.

Exam Structure

lab and exams are part of the curriculum. There used to be always tests and since we are following semsester system, only 3 months effective will be there for the professors to teach.

Faculty

4

Partly strict and partly friendly. Computer science staff used to be very strict and they dont even tun up to mechanical engineers as they think Mechanical engineers are rude. Whereas mechanical staff are always friendly.

Placement Experience:

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Placement Experience:

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Placement Experience:

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
