Remarks
With an EAMCET Rank of 30,000, I didn't have many choices. I got BIET in my first counselling. I enquired about the college through my brother, cousins and online reviews. With positive reviews in majority, I took admission in the college. I joined BIET with a million dreams, and I must say it was the best decision I've made. I could have joined other colleges through management but I felt it was a waste of 10 - 15 Lakhs . So, I visited the campus for the first time before I took my admission and it was a gorgeous campus. We had to pay the complete first year fee in the official website of TS EAMCET if we want to accept the counselling seat. After second counselling ends, within 10-15 days, I had to go to the college and submit all my original certificates for the admission purpose.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is set by JNTUH since BIET is affiliated to JNTU. I have always found a lack of application oriented syllabus with JNTU. I consider us lucky since I never faced any issues with the faculties. All the faculties that taught us till now are good with their subject and are free to approach for any doubts. I find few of the faculties highly qualified. For an instance, one of our faculties developed a mobile application to upload recording of the classes and conduct online classes. About the faculty: student ratio, it was good till Covid struck. We shared online classes with other section students for a while and then we started having individual classes again. The end semester exams are conducted approximated 5 months after the teaching starts for the semester. It is easy to balance academics and internship.
Internships Opportunities
Students are obliged to create profiles in LinkedIn, Internshala to find internships right from their first semester. I worked on my Web development and Mobile app development skills right from my first semester and joined as a Full stack developer intern for a start-up that offered 5,000rs stipend. I later joined as a IBM Z intern. The college provides a pathway in finding internships but does not directly offer internships. It's up to the students to bag internships.
Placement Experience
The placements in the college are improving every year. Many companies like IBM, Amazon started recruiting students in their final year. Students receive Campus recruitment training right from their second year. The average salary package lies between 3.5 LPA It also depends on the student. Factors like Internship experience, problem solving skills, DSA knowledge, technical stack and communication skills play a key role in the interviews. If you take the placements seriously and start building projects that showcase your skills right from your second year, placements would be easier.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure depends on the branch you pursue. It also changes every year based on the availability of seats. Scholarships will be provided if you join the college through EAMCET counselling. That will reduce the fee by 35,000 RS approx. There are no on campus jobs such as Teaching assistant for students like in foreign universities. So, I would suggest the students to look for internships outside the campus. The students are obliged to join an internship right from their first semester.
Campus Life
First things first: The fests in the college are BOMB! An annual fest will be conducted every year in the end of February. The lights, dances, music, food are too epic. Other than fests, you have other activities like Traditional day, camps, Industrial visits, etc. We also have multiple Hackathons every year where you can solve real world problems.
Interview Experience
There wasn't any interview for the admission process. You can give EAMCET or ECET exams and join the college directly based on the rank you secure. The closing rank changes every year based on the availability of seats. It was around 30k for CSE students without reservation in 2019 and was reduced to 24k in 2021.
