Machine to the Future.

St Claret Institute of management is an institution that follows discipline and cares about student's growth. They do not entertain any favoritism in the batch. As a student currently pursuing my master's in SCIM, I am deeply enriched by the ambiance the SCIM provides to a student. For people coming from an outside country or who is not a resident of Bangalore, SCIM provides hostel facilities with food and other accompanies. The admission process was very smooth and neat, it was not time-consuming. The Principal interacts with the new joiners and gets to know them personally, which gives a sense of confidence and recognition. It also encourages us to feel free at any point of time to approach the Principal in case of any emergencies. I had a couple of colleges in mind before I opted for SCIM. I chose SCIM because of the discipline and since I am an alumni of St Claret College, it made me more familiar with the campus and felt safe to be here for my future.

MBA in HR is the course that I have chosen. I chose this course because I am passionate about managing a team under me or being able to start a new business and grow in it. When I get my dream job that is to be an HR, the role is to manage certain people under me and to be able to maintain manage the company's resources. The faculties of the Department of MBA, are very knowledgeable. Each Professor takes the effort in making the subject innovative and they explain with current scenario examples. They encourage us to be on our toes every minute about everything that is happening in the world. Classes will be interesting and informative other than the syllabus. Because they put efforts into teaching us how to be successful managers in the coming future. They are highly qualified and know the in and out of the subject they teach us. Doubts are encouraged and clarified with simplifying examples . They take tests and exams ensuring students learn each topic done in the class.

They encourage you to take internships outside the college on your own so that we get the experience to attend an interview. The companies are like FMCG, Banking, etc, The projects are based on the live hands-on on the field to improvise our skills and learning of new things. They train you in such a way that we can acquire a job at that stage of the semester, so in turn, it is helpful for us to find an internship. We are assigned a lot of projects within the time we complete our one semester. It helps us to gain more knowledge about more of the topics and helps us to be at our fingertips about any topic that we study or do a project on. One of the projects which we were given was on the tourism sector and to prepare various aspects that impacted the tourism sector during the pandemic. In this project, we learned more about the positive and the negative sides of the industry as to how they suffered and how exactly they strived to attain the same market place which they had before.

Students become eligible for placements in the last semester of the course opted. The necessary training and preparations are given to the students for the final interviews. Companies that have visited are from FMCG, Banking and insurance and its services. The highest package offered by the companies was Rs. 1 lakh, the average package was around Rs. 15 thousand. The interview process was very smooth and the questions asked were mostly based on the educational background as we were freshers with no work experience. The percentage of students who got placed was more than 58%. My plans after my degree are to get placed with the college placements and join a reputed company. Because the college assured us that there will be reputed companies visiting the college for the placement drive. We will be prepared maximum by the training provided by the faculty teachers in the department. They make sure that we are ready in attending the interview how much ever difficult it is. We put our efforts maximum.

Fees in SCIM are comparatively less. For the alumni, they provide a discount of one lakh and help in paying in installments as well. The extra courses provided by SCIM are highly useful in the future. They provide courses like; Python, Digital marketing, etc. The scholarships they provide are very useful for students. If the students are not able to pay the fees in the allotted time, SCIM allows the students to pay in the time when they are comfortable in paying the fees. They extend the time the fees should be paid and help the students in paying the fees. They take up the responsibilities of bringing reputed companies to the campus for placements. Some faculties are hired separately for the coordination of the placement department. They effectively help students in acquiring jobs accordingly. Every day after classes the faculties spend time with the students in helping them in preparing for the placements. They take up initiatives to set up current affairs, mock interviews to help.

Life at the campus is full of positive vibes. As I am an alumni of this campus, I feel nostalgic every time I am on the campus. The fests conducted by the college as well as the department helps us to participate and learn new topics and new things each time we participate. Equal opportunities are given to every student so that they get hands-on experience so that it will be an experience for them. Library facilities are upgraded for the students to get more materials for the references. Internet facilities are available for the students to extend their research options. Journals are available for easy referral for the students. The classrooms come with recent amenities required to make the class more technological and advanced. It helps to make us more concentrating and feel like high-class students. There are extracurricular activities and sports to enhance the experience of the students on the campus. There are gym facilities for the students batch-wise to participate. Worth it.

I had a personal interview with the Principal. The questions were; Introduce yourself, How did you get to know this college? Why did you choose this course? Why did you choose this college? The process for admission was simple. had to apply through the application form. I got a call from the administration that I have been selected for admission. Criteria for admission were: all pass marks cards should have completed degree, should possess all the pass certificates, TC, NOC, and PDC for applying for the course. I read about the college on the college website. Had a discussion with the alumni students and decided to choose SCIM. For the interview, I prepared by going through the college website for the recent updates and the recent steps taken by the college. Since I was from the same campus, I already knew most of the traits of the college and just had to know the recent updates of the college. The website had most of the information which I was looking for the interview and cracked it.
