Definitely a good choice for proactive students

I wanted Biotech as my major and got this college as one of my option during Anna university counselling. When compared to the other options I got, this college has good infrastructure and faculties. The admission process was smooth.

My ambition was to become a research scientist and biotech interests me, hence chose this course. The faculty was very helpful and encouraging. Every faculty has a minimum of a Masters degree in the major. Every lecturer/professor put their maximum effort to provide the best material for the subject of interest and was available in every hour of the need.

Department and faculty encourage all the students to involve in internship and they provide a recommendation if requested. They support students and even arrange for internships on campus. They encourage students to participate in competitions conducted by other colleges and provide all the help. Students with business ideas can utilize their incubation cell and gain financial assistance as well.

For batch 2016, there were nearly 3 on-campus and 2 off-campus drive arranged by the department, through which more than 60% of the students got placed. The maximum package offered by these campus placement was 3 lakhs/annum, which is a quite decent one for freshers. The department is highly encouraging and they provide recommendation letters whenever it is requested, this helps a lot for students who want to look for opportunities of their own.

Fees were nominal as I got placed via counselling, and financial assistance has to be sought by the students by visiting nearby banks. The college makes sure to provide forms for a first graduate stipend, and those who are eligible can get be benefited out of it.

There are frequent seminars and hands-on sessions arranged by the department. There are sufficient syllabus related books and journals are available in the library, still, the quality of the books can be improved as they are used over and over for quite a number of years by the students. There are basic amenities available and the facilities in the lab meets just the curriculum needs, this can be improvised, such that students can do many mini-projects or try out new studies in our labs. There is an NCC group in our college that conducts regular blood donation and tree planting camps. An overall social group can be improvised a lot.
