Remarks
To be honest I'm pursuing CA right now and since CA can be done from anywhere, I was not in a need to search for a college out of Agra. There are many Colleges in Agra but St.Johns college is considered to be the best among all. The college faculty is quite educated and the classes and seniors are eager to lend a helping hand to anyone anytime.
Course Curriculum Overview
St. John's College is the best in Agra, the students the teachers are all so helpful, they don't make you feel that you are alone. Also, the teachers are quite educated in their respective fields. Some of them have PhD in their subjects. There are 6-8 teachers in all for the BCom program And the no. Of classes are 3, there being 200-240 students for BCom program so the college does not face any difficulty regarding the shortage of teachers. Talking about the teaching method, as of now we the students of the first year have mostly attended the online classes conducted by the college, the teachers provide us with questions and notes so that we can practice and learn. they make sure that each student understands the topic well. The exams for BCom are held only once during a year (being a three-year program) and as of now exams do not help yet due to corona, and passing the exams is not at all difficult with the full support of the teachers that we have here
Placement Experience
The college provides campus placement offers with a partnership with TCS. The college holds a college fair in which not only the college students but students from other colleges can also participate. Since I'm in BCom first year I don't know much about campus placement and jobs offered by the college but yes companies do come and students get selected also
Fees and Financial Aid
Frankly, the college is quite budget-friendly. The fee structure was never a problem for anyone and the college. The college provides various scholarships and campus placement is a few, one of them being torrent power with stipend Ranging from 8000-12000. For commerce, the fees are usually 4000-8000 per year, for arts, it's 7000-8000 and for science, it's 12000-13000
Campus Life
The gender ratio is 50:50. Some of the extracurricular activities are NCC, NSC, JRC, NSS. For sports lovers, we have a big college ground where various events like Cricket and tug of war are held. There exists student diversity and tolerance. Recently the college organized a commerce fest which included activities like debating, Mehendi, poster making, singing, etc. The classes are airy and huge to fit in almost 80 students at a time.
Interview Experience
There were no group discussions due to corona but the college called us one day for a personal interview kind of activity so that we can interact with the teachers and we can complete all our formalities for admission. The teachers asked us about our schools, our field of interest and what do we want to do in the future. It could have been a long one but due to corona the college preferred to keep it short
