Entrance Preview
When i completed my schooling then there was a common entrance test CET for all colleges in Haryana and my college was affiliated to MDU, Rohtak. I got a rank of around 4500 and about 1,50,000 students appeared for the exam.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is decided by the university and it hasn't changed for the past 50 years, i guess. There should be some major changes in how education is imparted to students in India. The curriculum still teaches you subjects like microprocessors, CRTs, oscillators which are not used now.
Internships Opportunities
No, there is no internship provided by our college, at least till the time i was there it wasn't there. The college has now become a private university so they might be offering internship and stipend now.
College Events
We had technical fests and cultural fests in college. The technical fest happened twice in 4 years and cultural fest happened once. There were no sponsor for the event and it was all in-house. There were no artists also who performed at the event and the students put up shows to entertain the crowd.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was a facility of taking an education loan from a nationalized bank and HDFC bank during that time. I did not avail that facility so i am not aware of the process.
Exam Structure
There were 3 internal exams of 20 marks each and the 2 best scores average was considered. We had 2 semesters exam in a year, one in May and the other in December. The internal marks were out of 50 and the external were out of 100. You had to individually pass in internal and external. So scoring 20 in internal and 40 in external was mandatory.
Faculty
The faculty is experienced and well read. Some of the new hires are college alumni which causes a little bit of partial internal marking but that happens everywhere. There is little that can be done about it. The professors are helpful and generally available for any help and support.
