Remarks

As I had mentioned before, Vijaya is a very reputable college. It has good teachers and overall good education. The admission is based on merit. You don't have to write any entrance exams. You will be asked to fill the application form and then proceed with the admission. Many of my parents' friends graduated from Vijaya college. So they recommended me to it. There are also plenty of famous alumnus.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I joined B.Com Evening batch as I had my CA foundation classes in the morning. Even in evening college, the teachers are great. There are 2 sections and each section consists of around 50 students. The teachers are well experienced and understanding. The evening college conducts internals 1 month before the semester exams, to make sure we are ready for the main exam. The sem exams are conducted by BCU.

Placement Experience

2.5

For the day college, there are placements. Every year a lot of start-up companies or small scale companies come for campus interview. A lot of students are selected. But the package is around 1.8 - 2 lacs per year. For evening college I don't they have campus placements. We have to look for jobs ourselves. I plan on doing internships and learn after my graduation.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for evening college is 24,000 per year. The management is very understanding and will let you pay your fees in 2 instalments. You can apply for other scholarships also. Regarding jobs on college with a stipend, you will have to ask in the office.

Campus Life

4.5

The college conducts annual fests, but last year they couldn't do it because of COVID-19. The college library is vast. They have all the books we require for the semester. We will be given 2 library cards and can take 2 books at a time. The classroom is also spacious. Various Competitions are conducted every year and the winners will be awarded later in the award ceremony. Kabbadi, cricket, throwball(girls), etc are conducted.

The placement cell in my college is okay they do get few good companies for campus recruitment and they guide us thoroughly how and when we should apply for placement they do conduct some sessions and bring people to guide us with everything. The percentage of students getting placement is 50 or 60 percentage. My plan after degree is to continue pursuing acca and then finding a job abroad

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester. Our college has a dedicated placement department that really guides and supports us through the whole process. Big companies like Deloitte and KPMG visit the campus every year, and since I’m doing B.Com + ACCA, there are plenty of great opportunities in finance and accounting. Last year, around 8 students from the B.Com batch got placed in finance roles. The average package was about ?6 LPA. The best part is that placements keep getting better every year, and the college has maintained a 100% placement record. They’ve even tied up with foreign companies, which opens up more global opportunities for us. After completing my degree, I plan to build a strong career in finance—hopefully starting with a reputed company like Deloitte or KPMG—and later explore opportunities abroad.

Placement Experience:

The college offers placement through the COC (Career Opportunities) cell. Students become eligible for placements by the 5th Semester. The companies which come to hire include the Big 4s, (KPMG, Delloite, EY and BCG), Fedral Bank,TCS, etc. Almost 70% of students opt for higher eduaction so the less number of students get placed at the UG level at least. I am personally figuring out which path to choose but I have placement in mind at the end of the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My specific aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the course is the ACCA along with Bcom. Most importantly the 9 paper exemptions provided that gives flexibility in the context of studying. The curriculum is well corporate and real world oriented. They prepare us on how to face the real corporate world through their curriculum by conducting different seminars and workshops.
