Remarks
NIRF ranking 25 for the dental college as per the 2020 NIRF ranking. A lush green campus with the ambience of village life (because you will find farms almost everywhere in your surrounding). Central mess with proper food timings (as in Hospitals). Great faculty, they'll teach you in such a way that you yourself are gonna fall in love with that subject even if you hate it(p.s.-Biochemistry). Ragging free campus (it's funny that my seniors are afraid of us juniors, simply because one complaint against you will get you in severe trouble even if it means suspension). Hostel rooms are clean can vary according to your needs(eg. We have 1rooms 1 guy ac/non-ac, 1 room 2 guys ac/non-ac, 1 room 4 guys ac/non-ac) depending upon the rooms you choose lodging expenses to vary. Do not worry about patients, we have about 700-800 patients visiting our dental opd per day. Coming to cons- just be on time, and you will only get veg food in mess, adm via NEET.
Course Curriculum Overview
First of all, I choose BDS because it was my dream to become a surgeon, did not go for any coaching but I was glad I scored 500, these days people say a lot on Quora that doing BDS is useless, it's MBBS and MBBS only worth pursuing for, but my dear folks nothing as such is gonna happen, it all depends on your practice and patient exposure which will determine how well a dentist you are. So I am happy with my decision to pursue BDS, now coming to faculty. They hold a great amount of knowledge and their way of explanation shows the intense amount of exploration they have done in the medical field. They are gonna teach you in such a way that you will love it and almost all the time in order to not make the lectures turn boring they are gonna crack up jokes which make us feel light also when things start to pass from over our heads anyways all my teachers are qualified MDS and have a wide experience in this field. I am glad to be a member of this noble community.
Internships Opportunities
Well talking about the patient inflow we face no problems cause we have a load of dental patients every day in our OPD waiting to be treated which lessens our tension of getting a patient during internships, plus the patient-doctor interaction goes real smooth during our internships because I have seen my seniors in that action. Plus our college produces fine dentists not only across the country but across the globe as well which is why it has such a widespread reputation.
Placement Experience
I am a BDS student so for us right after finishing our BDS we are eligible to practice ourselves. Now it is on you whether to go for MDS or not, or whether to move abroad for your practice, we have our internships in the 5th year where we are taught how to deal with patients in real life so our journey starts right from our internships, a lot of fresh Doctors who have passed out from this college are doing great in life. I have a clear set of thoughts in chronological sequence as to this would be my way forward which includes doing MDS and going for opening my own clinic after which I shall move abroad for my practice.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure goes as such for BDS:- 1st-year fees is about 300000 but for 1st year only. 2nd to 4th-year fees is 200000. Then the hostel fees per year are about 100000 but it is on you whether you want to stay in the hostel or not. You do get loans from a bank like being a reputed college it falls under the list of scholar loans college of SBI. The scholarship scheme is applicable according to the marks secured in NEET and board exams.
Campus Life
We have two fests in our college one being inter-college and the other Intra college, in the months of April and October respectively, our dental college has its own library furnished with volumes of books and journals and it is quite spacious holding a capacity of accomodating about 800-900 students, labs are well equipped with instruments and other medical stuff, classrooms are huge, there is a huge field which is named after Yuvraj Singh because he himself played in that field, ATMs and cafes can be found literally anywhere inside the campus we also have some other food stalls for students and people, and the campus has it's own electronic vehicles running inside the campus free of cost to drop students from hostel to college and vice versa, a fountain spot and branched bench tower which can act as the perfect hotspots for photo sessions.
Hostel Facilities
Rooms vary according to your needs like you have 2 sharing a room, 4, 3 sharing a room or one room for a single person and the rooms can have ac or it can be a normal room. The good thing is that every room has its own bathroom, what you get is a cupboard a bed light, fan and the rest you can customise according to your needs. We have a central mess wherein we are provided with breakfast (7-9), Lunch(1-2), and dinner (7-8), food quality is ok but the only thing is that you won't get non-veg served to you, so if you want to have to some there are a number of stalls outside the campus just go and have according to your needs. Our hostel is inside the campus and there is the warden who keeps in check as to when students are leaving and coming, your attendance is marked via the biometric system and students are not allowed to leave or enter the hostel after 9 pm, breaking which an SMS will be sent to your parents that your child has not yet reported to us.
