Remarks

As it is government funded, we do have problem with fund sanctioning. But as of now input from the university management is low.but will defiantly improve in coming years.

Entrance Preview

UNIVERSITY EXAM. MSc Cyber Forensics & Information Security is itself an awesome course.I choose this course because of the departmental collaboration with different IT firms. The syllabus is made by ISACA, taught by guest faculties coming from different IT firms.

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum covers all aspect broadly but for deeper knowledge you need to study yourself. Apart from other departmental electives one can choose cloud computing, networking, police administration, cyber crime, frauds bfsi, data privacy, Business Continuity Management, Physical and Environmental Security Management,Cyber Laws Intellectual Property Rights etc.

Internships Opportunities

After completing first year, it is mandatory to do an internship at an organization recommended by the department.

Placement Experience

Total Intake per batch is 20. Based on the ability students are placed in different companies like Infosys, TCS, World Bank group and Nationalized Banks, Forensics Labs. Placement figures 6.5 laks-3.5 laks if lucky,you may have an double offer.

College Events

Every year, the department starts with Cyber Security Awareness programs. Organizing seminars/rallies in schools and colleges of chennai. Fresher Party and Farewell party is must. Birthday Parties too are celebrated in the department.Hostels have there own Hostel day and Campus days too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is very feasible by the students. I year(Indian)-7427, II year(Indian)-6312. Hostel fee: 4000 per year +4000 (caution)Food:3000/- per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

University of Madras have earn while you learn facility and free education for the poorest student in the batch. Apart of this a lot of small scholarship.

Campus Life

Campus ratio differs per campus and per course.in general is 6 girls:4 boys. Campus diversity differs per campus and per course.but madras university attracts students from all over India. One is free to organize birthday parties and hostel day host events like debates, dance, sing etc.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facilities is up to the mark but differs in each campus in some campuses specially Taramani Campus superb. Room are double for PG and single for MPhil and Research Scholars.International Students have a separate hostel for them. One need to share room with other campus student and NO RAGGING!!

Alumni/Alumna

Every year Department organizes Alumni meet and has a well connected alumni network. Seniors are very helpful for placement and even comes to teach us.

Exam Structure

Exam structures- 2 SESSIONAL OF 50 MARKS per paper and an end sem exam of 100 marks.we have to write a lot.In first year, lab time is satisfactory. Theory classes are more, almost like a hectic day.Once you finish with all your softskills and electives. In second year, sit in lab and lean, evolve. Work on your end sem project.

Faculty

Faculties are well qualified. They work as a motivation and a guide inspiring us to do research. Our HoD is a scientist in Tamil Nadu Forensic division. HoD holds a PHD where as the guest facilities are cooperates people holding professional certification.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The main aspect of mine to choose this course is , I am very interested in the zoology, so , I choose this course by myself. The curriculum prepares you for the both real world applications and for the further academic pursuits. They asked you to take seminars in the class. You can take seminar in you interested way by chalk and talk method or by PPT. The examination hours are 3 hours. It will help you to manage the time properly.
