Everything you want to know about PIBM,Pune

After graduation, I decided to pursue an MBA. I gave various entrance exams like NMAT, CAT, and MAT. According to my merit(75% in MAT)and budget(Max 10 L) for an MBA, I selected various Tier 2 colleges and got shortlisted in IILM, LM Thapar, IBS Jaipur, Jaipuria, and PIBM. The reason to select PIBM was the placement with average package of 5-6 Lakhs, hostel facility, 2 months of the Orientation program(BOP), GYM on campus, and a decent fee structure of 4.4 Lakhs (Tuition + Hostel fees) per year. to get selected for PIBM I gave GD, PI, and aptitude exam in Chandigarh city(Sunbeam Hotel) I joined the college on 4 June 2019 during the BOP. The best thing about college is they highly focus on academics, corporate sessions, Industrial visits, communication, and aptitude which is very important for placements. The bad aspects of college are hidden charges of examination, location(far from the city), bad food, very small infrastructure, and very high student intake(900).

I took Marketing specialization because I have a technical background (Btech IT) and a very low interest in finance and HR. There are a total of approx 900 students and divided into 60 students per section. The faculty members are highly educated and past experience in the corporate sector. The teaching and pedagogy of the college curriculum very intense so that you don't spend any unproductive hours and they strive you to give as much as knowledge as they can

One of the best parts of this college is it gave you an opportunity to have 2 internships i.e Winter and summer internship. Most of the internship companies don't provide any stipend but some companies(Real Estate) give stipend on a performance basis. It depends upon the students on which job profile and sector they want to go for an internship. Most of the profiles are for sale and marketing

Placements are pretty good in college. They try their best to place each and every student. You get eligible for placement as soon as you jump into 3rd semester. You have an extra edge from other college students as the college provides you with 2 internships in first-year Winter and summer internship. Currently, I have entered in 3rd semester, and approx 12 companies as already came for placement and this year 2020 there will be difference and changes in packages offered by the company due to recession and economy slowdown. The highest package for previous year students was 16 L and min was 4 L. College provides 100% placement but in the end, it depends upon how much hard work or time-pass you have done in the first year.

The fee structure per year is Rs. 3,20,000(Tuition fee) and Rs. 1,25,000(hostel fee) for batch 2019-2020. This year there has been a hike of Rs. 50000 for a new batch and one thing that will affect your budget is the transportation cost. The hostel is so far from main PUNE city that it cost you around Rs 400 if you take OLA Cab and the fares increase in the night time.

Life in college is very dynamic and interesting. The college will take you to various corporate visits during BOP like Mapro garden and UNO Minda plant, conduct various sports events, and conduct many interesting events(Show your talent, Aarambh). Every year they celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi and Shivaji Jayanti with huge preparation and rituals. There is an annual fest GLORY every year mostly in the month of April but this year it was cancelled due to COVID 19. College provides you with Digital and physical library with all types of books, journals and research papers. Also, they provide the Economic Times newspaper daily to each student. There are clubs and committees formed every year like hostel, transport and food committee, marketing, digital marketing, finance and HR clubs for various events handled by students and guided by HOD

College rented flats (Navyangan) near the college and they have converted them into hostels. Each flat room of 2 BHK has 6 beds,2 balconies, and 2 washrooms. They have made mess inside the society itself and all basic necessities are available outside the society. The quality of meals is best during admissions and orientation months and after that, it degrades daily. The hostel is compulsory for the first year and the choice of the room and bed depends on first come first serve. The hostel is affordable but it is in a very remote area and far from main PUNE city.

I had to give GD, PI, and aptitude round for the selection procedure. GD topics are mainly trending and abstract topics. To get admission in PIBM you must have a minimum of 50% in Graduation. I prepared for GD from MBA Universe website
