Course Curriculum Overview
I did my masters of business administration from the SIM institute. Our syllabus was prescribed by GTU University and it was updated as per the latest industry trends. Our major area of study was marketing since it was my specialization. There were other specializations as well.
Placement Experience
The placement cell provides assistance for the students by inviting multiple companies for the recruitment process. Students are hired for multiple profiles like Banking, Insurance, FMCG, Telecom, Consumer durables, and Retail. The packages offered were not satisfying and still has a lot of room for improvement. Companies like IBM, Infosys, Idea, etc recruited students from our college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Our institute was pretty feasible in terms of fee structure. We paid around 65k on an annual basis, which was less than other MBA colleges in the region. There were no hidden charges or anything. The canteen was also pretty cheap.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarships are offered by our college to the students from the financially challenged background. Students have to apply for the scholarship during the time of admission. Apart from that on the basis of norms prescribed by the university, students from a reserved category are also offered relaxation in the fee structure.
Admission
I applied to the college with my CMAT scores. Though, they also accept other entrance exams like CAT, XAT, JEE, etc. My MAT score was pretty nominal but I finally I got the call for the counselling process. The counselling process consisted of GDPI rounds. GD round went pretty smoothly, but the PI round was pretty exhausting. Eventually, I was granted admission.
Faculty
The standard of teaching was top-notch. Our faculty members were very qualified and talented. They all had several years of corporate experience under their belt. Class notes were provided by the faculty themselves. Additionally, the college library was also stacked with books from different sectors.
