Remarks

College is sincere in approach towards the students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Yes, the curriculum is perfect and along with classroom teaching, there is a good practical exposure provided to students. As a part of industry visit, we had gone to Ramdev factory which manufactures spices. Many entrepreneurship fests are held in college for promoting college students to take initiative in various creative activities.

Placement Experience

4

Being first year student we get summer internships at various corporates who visit a college campus for interviews like this year we had following corporates:- 1) ITC 2) ICICI Bank 3) IDFC First Bank 4) Occura eye care 5) Airtel 6) Times of India. The college trains us well through inductive lectures regarding internships and mock rounds of Group discussions and personal interview.

College Events

4.5

The list is as under- 1). SPECTRUM is a management cum cultural event where the college students have to arrange a hall with stage and audience space and this time it was ATIRA Hall in Ahmedabad at IIM Road. This event is meant for students from different colleges from GTU to participate in management event after paying some fees which is very low. The students of host college arrange for sponsors who contribute to the event and the funds that they provide are helpful in arranging the prizes for contestants as well as to cover set up expenses. Talent shows are also involved in it. 2). Entrepreneurship fest is held every year which allows the students to sell their products on college premises to various visitors from other colleges. The participants have to pay a certain amount for Installing their respective stalls. 3). Technical events are included in entrepreneurship fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Yes, the college provides fee breakdown and the fee is Rs.57,500 per semester. College does not charge any additional fee. The fee is proper for this level of college as per the infrastructural facilities that they provide. They provide a receipt on fee payment containing the break up of fees for the transparent transaction.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship is actually provided by ACPC which is the branch of university dealing with admission procedures. Students whose family income is below Rs.8,00,000 are provided scholarship based on the filing of income certificate with ACPC issued by the local authority of the area of residence.

Campus Life

2.5

The gender ratio is almost equal and there is no biases or discrimination faced by any student and if yes then concerned faculty will take steps against it. Students belong to diverse races and religions. We also have many Kashmiri students in the class who are being supported by the university to pursue their post-graduation.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors actually clear our myths about placements and college programmes. Seniors' advises helped me to choose courses which were appropriate for me. There 3% of seats reserved for such scholarship in each course. The allotment is done on basis of Merit of the student applying for the scholarship.

Admission

1) Admission through the ACPC process. 2) Online registration of Student profile and upload of documents and account creation subject to 14 digit PIN issued through banks. 3) Choice filling on respective dates. 4) Locking college as per merit. 5) Payment of college reservation fee as a token in ACPC at the end of College allotment process. 6) Finally after completing the ACPC process, Semester fee is paid into college. The reason for choosing Somlalit Institute of Management Studies is a good final placement procedure with reputed companies visiting the college. I have chosen MBA Finance as the postgraduate course as I want to make a career in the share market.

Faculty

4.5

The tentative number of lecturers is 10 Average age:- 40 Qualification:- PhD (Completed) Industry experience:- Yes. All the faculties have an exceptional hold over the subjects and all of them have corporate experience in their area of interest. Many of the professors have pursued their doctorates after working in the industry for a brief period of time nearly 2 years which helps them to teach us with industry-specific explanations.
