I was looking for a different course, other than the main stream courses and landed here in Fisheries field. College of Fisheries, Shirgaon, Ratnagiri stands at 3rd rank all over India.Its a very good college in my hometown. It provides good exposure to the students. Staff is also highly educated and supportive.

It is a very good curriculm coveing various aspects of education in field of fisheries.right from biology of fishes to export import sale retail.Very knowledgeable. Also has ICT, Yoga, Open Sea Swimming as compulsory subjects. Faculty is the best I would say. They are highly knowledgable, supportive, caring. Academics and Extra curricular activites are balanced very well.Lot of Exposure is given to the students (National Level Sports, Cultural Programmes).

In my last semester, I was interning in Fish Processing Industry ( M/s.Jeelani Marine Products) We received stipend of Rs.12000/- for two months. We were alloted internship from the college. It was a very good company dealing in export of Various marime products to Asian countries.

College has a placement cell thay arranges various placement drives for last year students in the last sem various MNC, Processing industries, etc come for placement. Approximatel 70% students are placed in the drive. Also, time to time information is given regarding recent openings in the industry.

Campus life is very good.As each class contains only 40- 50 students.there is no crowd.Many state and national level events are organized in the campus as well as college sends teams to various competitions.All the events organised in the college are managed by the students.It gives them management training.

College campus is quite big, ocated 1.5 km away from city place.It is a 3- storeyed building. Wifi is provided in whole building for students use. Labs are also well equipped with necessary machinery for research work. Library is also big with books ranging from old collection to the latest. Also books for competitive exams are provided. Training is provided for the same.Sports facility is also good.

Hostel rooms are good. Twin or Triple sharing is provided. Water source is good.It can be availed from college office after admissions. PG rooms are avl around college for girls as wel as boys. Average rent is 4000 per month.
