Remarks
College management is below average. Few main bodies are saving college funds for their own interest.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is bounded to university so it's kinda old curriculum carrying on with narrow scope of research. Curriculum subjects are not enough for any type of placement. Curriculum offered a few subjects every year that involves industrial knowledge and skill-building. Industrial visits are organised often. But I'm at the end of 3rd year and my batch went on only one trip to HP.
Placement Experience
Placement is a big problem. Most are left unplaced or dissatisfied after placement sessions and have to apply for companies through off-campus drives. Overall it is very struggling and the opportunities are not served well to students. Majority of the recruiting companies are basically call centres and are generally searching for labours. Around 40% of students are placed via campus-placements and the majority of them are dissatisfied with their below par wages. The college placement cell is improving a lot by conducting some personality development classes and some skill building seminars.
College Events
A cultural fest is celebrated every year named "Umang". This is the only occasion that involves a large gathering. Apart from this, some technical events are constantly organised (the majority of these are organised by seniors) For example, Coding Champs, Innovation projects. Participation of students is moderate.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is expensive when compared with the facilities offered to students. Every year the fee structure changes significantly (in increasing order) without much improvements in infrastructure. No additional charges except sports charges (around Rs.1200 per year) and the university exam fees are paid to university separately by students. Fees breakdown is uneven for a different student. I have seen students who are in the same batch but paying unevenly(huge difference) based on their negotiations during admission time.
Fees and Financial Aid
As far as I'm concerned (for the last 3 years) no such loan is facilitated. Though some insignificant fee concessions are offered for a brilliant student on the basis of their percentile. The scholarship is offered by the UP government to students belonging to this very state. And the college also charges fees for submitting scholarship form(balancing their funds too)
Campus Life
Campus life is moderate. A large number of restrictions are imposed on students as if they are in schools. They are not allowed to roam or go to the field while the classes are On. The gender ratio is slightly in favour of boys. Sports facilities are improved a lot since earlier days. Lab environment and equipment are too good and constantly updating. Competitions are organised at regular intervals by the seniors.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students are caring and helpful if approached. Also, ragging doesn't exist here. All are familiar with each other.
Admission
I opted for CSE because of my deep interest in the field of software since an early teen.CS offers a great opportunity in innovation and creativity, it is something challenging and yet so dynamic. At that time I was unaware of the competitive examination entrances. So this was the only option left for me to get admitted in a private college. The admission process was not to complicated. Just went to the college and contacted the officials. Filling the admission form was the only process(and also some part of the fees).
Faculty
The average number of lectures are 1 per day for each subject excluding a few skill development lectures. And most of the faculties are interns around 25 years. Some are skilled and experienced though. Some of the Lecturers are experts in their fields focusing on skill building and knowledge while others are improving well. A few have industrial experience as well and some are trained to expertise their their skills.
