Remarks
College is lacking a proper ground for conducting extracurricular activities like sports. But academically speaking it provides all the best services. The college need to have a more sophisticated library with more no. of books.
Course Curriculum Overview
The main exam is yearly based, while the there will be internal exams every 2 or 3 months. The curriculum is research oriented and has kept an open door for future studies. The usual labs and exams are of moderate intensity. And we can get a lot of time till 5th year for pursuing other activities also. The final and 6th year is a complete one year internship in the District hospital where we will be practising from 2nd year onwards.
Placement Experience
Currently they are not providing any placements for the passout students or interns. Yes, the college does provide one year internship as part of standard curriculum prepared by the RGUHS. But as of my knowledge the interns are not receiving any stipends. But the internship program being conducted is of good value, due to the good no. of patients and doctors available at the district hospital, Kalaburagi. With the experience gained from this it won't be a tedious thing to find a job related to our practice. And we have vast opportunities in the field of pharmacy practice, pharmacovigilance, industrial, hospital pharmacy, documentation etc.
College Events
Regular events are conducted in our college in coordination with cultural, sports, technical and other festivals. Sports week and annual day will be conducted during February last week. Also all days of medical importance are celebrated. Yearly workshops are conducted by doctors and other eligible speakers. The students show active participation in the programs like dance, skit, singing, mime, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is quite feasible for any average individual in India or abroad. During admission we need to pay 1lakh donation plus 1lakh tution for the 1st academic year. From then onwards 1lakh every year for remaining 5 years. So a total of 1+6 i. e 7 lakh is the total package for the course. Hostel fee and food apart.
Fees and Financial Aid
The local students who gets more than passing marks are eligible for state scholarships and will get it till the completion of the course, yearly. Minority scholarships can also be availed here from government. The college does not provide any loan or scholarship of its own but allows us to pay the annual fees in 2- 3 divided sections before the main exams.
Campus Life
College supports extracurricular activities in all aspects. As of the gender ratio the no. of females outweigh the males to 3:1. Workshops and other cultural activities are conducted from time to time to refresh the students. The students and lectures have high tolerance in terms of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation etc. Till now no issues relating to above mentioned have been reported. The college has a politics free atmosphere. No students political party are functioning in the college.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is only available for ladies in the college. Usually a room is shared between 2- 3 persons. Rooms are of considerable size and have attached bathourooms. Gents are not provided with hostel and are free to find hostel or apartments of our choice.
Alumni/Alumna
All the seniors and alumnis are of great help and has always come forward to give good advice. They have never annoyed anyone in the name of ragging or anything of such fashion. They can give better directions than teachers in the matter of project work and exams.
Admission
I got the admission thourough an agent in Kerala. No interview or anything of such is practised. About 15 management seats are available and first ones to pay for the seats are admitted. I chose this course because it is more of a new course in India and found to have more scope in India and abroad. And after passing this course of 6years we can prefix Dr. to our name.
Faculty
We have a good panel of lectures and other staff in the college. Everyone is well qualified and experienced in their field of expertise. The lectures have a minimum of masters degree in pharmacy practice. And department heads have a doctoral degree. They show interest in teaching proportional to the interests of the students. Overall good.
