Remarks :
Wash room facility of our college is very poor. Library in our college is vast with 3 floors. Library is blind friendly.It has thousands of interesting books.It is a peaceful and beautiful place. Our college is in the heart of the city. There is bus stop in front of our college and also metro station.Transportation to and from our college is very easy.Cultural events in our college is the best in the state.canteen in the college is very good with budget friendly dishes.faculty in our college is very friendly and also with vast knowledge.A negative about our college is that teachers are spoon feeding us.we are packing practical knowledge.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Course curriculum is as prescribed by the mg university.our course includes GST, income tax and law papers which is of very useful.I feel that our college is not focussing on practical knowledge. Bcom graduates are passing out with only bookish knowledge.learning should be enjoyable but it is hectic in our college with teachers spoon feeding us.
Placement Experience :
Our college has a placement cell which provides many job opportunities.TCS,Wipro,infosys,ABASOFT technologies,ALLIANZ India and many more companies visited in our college and almost 40 percent of the students who registered in the placement cell were placed in the last academic year.I don't think that our college is providing internship although it claims so.
College Events :
About the cultural events in our college,the events and fests conducting in our college is the best among the college's in the state. Teresian week which last a week is the most celebrated event in the college with dance ,music ,fashion show,drama,dj's ,jamming and many more.our college host events like Christmas sale,Diwali celebrations,onam celebration and many more.chief guests for these events are very famous celebrities.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fees structure in our college compared to other colleges offering the same courses is a bit higher. Bcom regular and other aided courses like BA , Bsc-9000 per year. Bcom self financing and other self financing courses like BMS,bcom capital market,bsc psychology-42000 per year.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees for SC-ST students is half compared to other students.they also receive reduction in exam and other fees.student aid fund is built up with the contribution from the students and well wishers and help is given to deserving students.support is given to apply for central and state government scholarship.many scholarships like scholarship by the stars,at Tessa merit- cum means scholarship,university merit scholarship are given.
Campus Life :
Being a women's college our college focuses on women empowerment.There is no student/dorm parties in our college.our college has many clubs and cells and many student activities like STEP for environment protection,women cell,arts club,entrepreneur cell,NSS,NCC,TROUP,red cross and many more.our college has incubation centre for the budding entrepreneurs.our college conducts sports days with various competitions every year.our college has badminton and football teams.politics is not there in our college.
Alumni/Alumna :
Our college have an association of alumni called AstA.There are yearly meetings of alumni. Christmas sale and other sales in the college are open to alumni of the college.during Teresian week many alumni of the college are invited as chief guests who are very famous celebrities.They talks about their experience inside the college and how this college helped them to become famous actresses.Their words are truly inspiring.
Admission :
I chose Bcom finance and taxation (regular) because it is a course with lot of opportunities for commerce students than BMS. The fees of this course is much lower than Bcom self financing and BBA. After Bcom we can go for accountant ,banking Jobs which offers attractive perks. We can also practise as tax consultant after Bcom.
Faculty :
Faculty of the college is very good.In the commerce department faculty members are Bcom ,Mcom and ,MBA qualified.All of them are dedicated and have high level of knowledge regarding the curriculum.faculty members in science block and other courses in arts block are PhD holders with many years of experience.There is also counselling faculty which understands the problems of students and give motivation and counselling.
