Remarks

This is a place we should choose if we are interested in learning horticulture. Since it is the only traditional and best College for teaching horticulture. But if you want to enjoy your College days along with academics this is not the place you should choose

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is good. They are restructuring everything from syllabus to exam patterns. The new syllabus follows ICAR recommendation , a Central Govt. Organization. It relies on recent research activities and achievements. The labs are pretty old. Exams are confusing. They didn't even know which method of examination is good one either exam pad system or paper writing or OMR sheet. There is a dilemma

Placement Experience

3.5

I heard of few campus interviews held last year since I was not interested I didn't get to know. But mostly private farms for farm manager post and few fertilizer companies and landscaping companies cmae for placement. Also College provide space for preparing for UPSC and other Govt. Jobs

College Events

4

Every year there will be Orientation day for freshers. Then in the even semester we will be celebrating Club day , Muthamizh Vizha - A day to celebrate our mother tongue , Hostel day and Sports day.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since it is a Govt College, the fees is not very high. It is affordable for most of the students. The semester fees including Exams fees , Lab fees , Books and registration does not exceed over twenty thousand rupees

Fees and Financial Aid

There is a community based scholarship available in the College. Other than that the College is providing a program in which students can involve in small works like assisting in library and get paid.

Campus Life

3

Sports is a predominant extracurricular activity for both men and women. Other than sports there is a club in which every club activity is involved. Interested persons can go and get guidance from seniors who got support from staffs

Hostel Facilities

3

Hostel is compulsory for everyone since it is a residential course. There will be separate men hostels for each. The rooms are sharing type. In each room 3 -4 persons have to stay but the space will be available for 2 -3 persons only. Water is the main problem we are facing

Alumni/Alumna

Senior relationship is a precious one in horticultural Colleges. The passed out students have created a alumni association and helps many current students economically and academically. Wherever we go for any competitions or study tour , there will be one caring senior there.

Admission

Admission is through counseling. You have apply through online on TNAU website and based on ranking of cut-off marks they will call for the counseling. On the counseling date we have to choose the degree as well as the College. The reason I chose this course is basically I like agriculture and I planned to start a horti based start-up after finishing the course

Faculty

3.5

All of the teachers are research scientist and have a vast knowledge on the subject. But the problem is they are not willing to teach. But like normal teachers they want their students to score marks and get degree.
