My College Review

My journey with Galaxy college was sublime and it was a memorable phase of my life. I did my graduation (B. Tech.) from here as well, so it was decision during opting college for post graduation. We learned a lot from the curriculum and the faculty itself. The outdoor activities were limited but, I end up enjoying all of that because of the friends I had.

Our syllabus was updated as per the norms prescribed by Anna University. It was very detailed. We studied subjects like business economics, financial management, operations management, etc. Student's performance assessment was done on the basis of class performance, summer internship report, project report, external exams, etc.

Placements are pretty good at our college. A number of companies come to our college in order to recruit students from different departments. CRISIL, Axis, NSE, Vodafone, etc. The packages offered to the freshers are also good. On average, students can secure around 35k INR.

I paid around 6 lacs for the entire course. This fee included a tuition fee, examination fee, library fee, registration fee. Personally, the fee structure was a bit expensive for me. Hostel charges are to be separate. The mess food is pretty cheap and the cafeteria was also pretty feasible.

The alumni network was vastly strong in our college. The members of alumni associations work towards the betterment of the college and the students. One of the key areas they work towards is bringing companies for placement drive etc.

Admissions are on the basis of the entrance exam scores. Merit is prepared on the basis of academic performance and entrance exam scores of the student. The counseling process went pretty smoothly, though the interview round was pretty stringent. After the interview, I went through the document verification process and post that I was granted admission.

All of our faculty members were MBA graduates themselves and had relevant experience in teaching. Teaching was good. Several guest Lectures were organized on topics ranging from any latest advancement in the corporate sector in a particular niche or any personal research conducted by the designated faculty. These lectures influenced a lot of my batch-mates into considering entrepreneurship.
