Remarks
Overall, if you are not looking for placements after graduation and don't want to move out of the city for bachelors, this is the best college to spend your college life and to learn. Although, the exposure is not that great.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is perfectly designed, not very rigorous, not every layman. Although the assignments before exams are a bit irritating it is manageable. Industrial visits are organised every year, this year we went to Amul Factory in Anand. The academics are not that rigorous and anyone can ace it by studying a week prior to exams with effective time management and a little bit of smart work.
College Events
The most famous event of our college is Inferno which is the biggest fest of South Gujarat. It attracts more than 10k+ visitors every year and over 1000+ participants. Also, at the beginning of every academic year, there is an event called War of Worlds (WoW) especially for the freshers (1st-year students) which are kind of a cultural event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The Fee is very economical as our college is affiliated of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (State University) and it is under 30K for the entire year for my course and other costs will not be more than 2k a year including Books & other miscellaneous expenses. College didn't provide fee breakdown though.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college fee in itself is very less that no one, literally no one takes education loan in the entire college. There are no scholarships provided by the college but a scholarship named MYSY is provided by Gujarat Government to some students based on merit.
Campus Life
There is no campus life as such as there are no hostels as almost everyone there is a resident of Surat city only. The college has a decent infrastructure with no swimming pool and auditorium. The ground is also quite small but the overall infrastructure is above most of the colleges in Surat. There is no different cutoffs to promote gender diversity during admissions but overall gender diversity is very good.
Alumni/Alumna
There is no official alumni network maintained by the college administration but there is an unofficial page on FB for it. Although, the college is not even a decade old so there's not a big alumni base yet.
Admission
I opted for BBA primarily because I was always interested in Business Management and wanted to get into MBA post my graduation. SDJ has a very good reputation in the city and its adjoining areas. The admission process is centralized and carried out by the University Norms and there are no management quotas as such.
Faculty
All the faculties are really supportive and helpful in nature and most of them are Doctorate in their respective fields. Faculties are always available for help irrespective of what time it is. Most of them are faculties in the college since its inception, unlike various colleges where faculties change every semester.
