Structure of the programme: The programme consists of six papers Paper – 1 Historical Development of Labour Legislations Paper – 2 Labour Perspectives in India Paper – 3 Labour Welfare Legislations Paper – 4 Socio-Legal Research Methods Paper – 5 Wages and Social Security Legislations Paper – 6 Industrial Relations and Legislations
College Events
The Institute organises State/Regional/National/International Seminars/workshops/Conferences with a view to provide a forum for discussion and debate on issues of topical interest and to discuss and disseminate findings of research conducted by the Institute. The Institute undertakes various training programmes for the trade union workers, organised and unorganised labour in rural and urban areas including child labour, women labour, agricultural labour. MGLI also undertakes training of the labour judiciary, officers of the Labour commissionerate, and of other departments employing labour in large numbers and public enterprises to provide them exposure to labour laws, labour welfare and labour relations etc-
Fee Structure And Facilities
Form Fees: Rs. 250/- Course Fees: Rs. 20000/- Rs. 15000/- (For MGLI students only)* Library Fees: Rs. 1000/- (Deposit / Refundable ) The fees seem very feasible and affordable considering that it's a one year course and the fees mentioned above are for the entire year.
Hostel Facilities
There is no hostel facility provided by the institute. The students have to arrange for their own accomodation. The pgs near the campus are bit expensive. If you go around 2 kms away from the campus, the pgs are reasonable.
Admission
It's a one year course which starts in August and ends in July. The selection of students is done purely on the basis of merit. The eligibility criteria: > Students of management, law, social work, commerce and, human resources etc. who wants to shape their career in field of labour practice. > Officers of government departments promoting harmonious labour polices and programmes for nation building process > Practitioners of development sector dealing with organized and unorganized labour for their betterment > Working executives dealing with labour issues on daily basis.
Faculty
The faculty of the institute is really good. They are well equipped with the technology and try to provide us deep understanding about the labour laws and the loopholes in the labour laws. The teachers are very helpful and cooperative.
