MASCOM School for Mass Communication

The course curriculum is an adaptation of media curriculum for a better practical understanding of the students. In addition to training in standard software such as MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, hands-on experience can be gained on scanners, printers, digital cameras, personal digital assistants (PDA) and voice recorders.

The placements are pretty good in our college. Many alumni of our college are working in reputed organizations including The Telegraph, Deccan Chronicle, DNA, Forbes India, Reuters, Dow Jones, The New Indian Express, Indian Express, Press Trust of India, and more.

The fee for the diploma program is around 1.5 lacs. This is a one time fee which can be paid in installments, as well. Students can also take the loan for paying the fee, which they can easily repay afterward.

The scholarship is not available for the students in our institute.

MASCOM provides state-of-the-art facilities for training in print journalism. It has a computer lab equipped with modern computers interconnected by means of Local Area Network. The School has a well-stocked library. In addition, students will be provided access to the Malayala Manorama library and digital archives.

Admission is on the basis of an entrance test, followed by an Interview. The selection process literally evaluated the students on the basis of their academic record, their interest in current affairs and politics, their commitment to journalism as a career and their writing skills.

The entire faculty is very much talented and has an ample amount of corporate experience with them, which is an elemental part of teaching. They would share their industry experiences with us. Teaching was more inclined towards imparting a practical learning experience.
