1. Post Diploma – Regular Admission (1st Year): If you have done a 3-year diploma (i.e., Computer Science, IT, or Electronics) after 10th or 12th, you are generally eligible for BCA as a regular 12th pass student. Some of the colleges may still need Maths/CS background, and at least 45–50% marks.

2. Lateral Entry – Admission to 2nd Year direct: All the universities offer lateral entry program, under which diploma holders are exempted from the first year and are admitted directly at 2nd year of BCA. This is normally allowed if your diploma is in the relevant technical field and is from an accredited institution. Admission may be on merit (diploma marks) or on an entrance test/interview (college-wise).
