What is your review of Maharashtra Institute of Technology?

ML
Mahesh Luthra Posted On : November 10th, 2022
Studied at Maharashtra Institute of Technology

Maharashtra Institute of Technology is a private university affiliated with the University of Pune.

Placements are average. The majority of people are placed in companies such as Infosys and Accenture. Companies such as Delloite and Microsoft come to campus, but they only hire a small number of students and offer them competitive salaries.

Very good opportunities for higher education abroad. When it comes to higher education, is affiliated with Unipune has its advantages. Furthermore, the college has a brand value associated with it.

You must be completely dedicated to your hobby or interest in order to pursue it. The cultural team is fantastic for people who are willing to work day and night. The same is true for other activities such as Supra and SAE Baja. The MIT Pune Kothrud campus has a reputation for consistently outstanding performance in national and international Robocon competitions.

The crowd is diverse. Although only 15% of the seats are allocated to students from outside Maharashtra, there are students from all over the country with diverse interests and hobbies.

You can't complain about the infrastructure. Enough for your requirements.

How is the crowd at Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT)?

PM
Pratik Mondal Posted On : May 24th, 2021
studied at Maharashtra Institute of Technology

My cousin studies at MIT Pune. It has a massive campus, almost like a small town with more than 30 institutes in Pune. You can reach here from any corner of the city. The crowd here is diverse and multi-talented.

  • MIT Pune also has a lot to offer, if you're interested in extracurricular activities. There are various clubs related to music, dance, art, social service, politics etc. There are technical clubs too such as Robocon, Team Baja, Team Supra, etc.
  • Academically also it's excellent and is one of the top private engineering colleges in Maharashtra.
  • The placement scene at MIT is good with a placement rate of 89% for undergraduates and 82% for postgraduates. More than 200 companies visit the campus each year.

Although, you'll have to make sure that you score at least 60% throughout the academic program.

Even though the crowd is a plus point, but do not forget that the college is in Maharashtra, so most of the students present at MIT are Maharashtrians. However, because of the popularity of the institute, it attracts students from almost all states of India. You can make really good friends there.

  • MIT has the best-dressed English-speaking crowd. Students from diverse states live and study here, so everyone is fluent in English.
  • The students of MIR are very much involved in extracurriculars, especially sports. They like to party, watch movies, and play sports.

So if you want to make some crazy friends and enjoy your college life to the fullest, MIT is the best choice for you.

What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at Maharashtra Institute of Technology?

AB
Abantika Banerjee Posted On : October 8th, 2020
PGDM Marketing, Maharashtra Institute of Technology

MIT Pune is challenging to get in, as the college admits some of the top-ranking students in JEE Main and MHT-CET examinations. So, students must prepare themselves for a competitive environment.

Some of the things that first-year students need to remember are:

  • To make connections: It is better if students take part in cultural activities and summits to increase their contacts. Students should join their club of choice, as MIT has numerous clubs to choose from. This will increase their interactions with seniors from their and other departments, and they can get academic help from them whenever required.
  • Participating in events: It boosts the CV at the end since a CV where both the academic and cultural aspects of a student’s college years are highlighted is preferred.
  • Relationship with Classmates: Students must maintain a good relationship with their classmates and teachers. A friendly environment acts as a tonic for the academic stress in the upcoming years.
  • Maintain Attendance: Students must maintain a right track and attendance record of 75%. Students must remember to have fun as well as maintain an excellent academic record. There are loads of shops and food joints around the campus.
  • Visit Library: Students must visit the library often to keep themselves up-to-date with their academics since a good overall GPA is required for placement in any department. Students must make sure they do not have any backlogs as they affect the outcome of placements.
  • Students in IT/CSE departments are advised to practice programming from the first year itself since the upcoming years get a lot tougher, especially if they do not come from a computer background.
  • Students must be well aware of the companies that provide internships to MIT students as the college does not provide internships.

The most crucial point of all is harboring proper time management skills. The right balance between academics and fun ensures a good college life. Although college students are expected to bunk lessons, one must make sure not to bunk too many lessons as it pulls students further away from getting good academic scores. Only focusing on activities will result in having low scores, and even backlogs will leave a stain on one’s academic pursuit.

Which college is better for computer science engineering: KIIT Bhubaneswar, MIT Pune, PES Bangalore, BMS Bangalore, or Acharya Institute of Technology Bangalore?

UR
Urmi Ray Posted On : September 25th, 2020
Studied at Acharya Institute of Technology (2018)

When talking of Bangalore, it definitely is the IT hub, and starting your career here will definitely give you great exposure when you come from a computer science background. PES, BES, and Acharya Institute are among the top-notch colleges in Bangalore and will definitely add to your career.

Admission:

  • KIIT Bhubaneswar does all its admissions via its entrance test named KIITEE.

  • MIT Pune admits new students via JEE main / MHT CET/ BITSAT/ VITEEE/ MU OET/PERA CET exams.

  • PES Banglore asks for 60% in 10+2 as minimum qualification and rank in PESSAT will be considered to get shortlisted for admission.

  • And finally, BMS and Acharya Institue conduct theirs via KCET.

Affiliation:

  • People Education Society University (PES) and Bharat Education Society University (BES) are both autonomous colleges that set up high standards for the universities and the students applying for it have to go through internal exams to get in.

  • Acharya Institute of Technology is affiliated to VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) and approved by the AICTE. Acharya is also accredited by the NBA (National Board of Accreditation).

Campus:

All three institutes reside in the city of Bangalore; it will be a great opportunity for the locals as they have good options in picking up the college which provides exposure with people from across the country.

If we speak of universities outside Bangalore, then there are few colleges one can consider to move forward with where MIT Pune and KIIT Bhubaneswar are in the limelight. There isn't much to distinguish among the college infrastructure and fees. The crowd in both the universities comes from diligent areas as well as the faculty is well proficient in their respective fields.

Placements:

  • The placement offers of both these universities (PES and BES) are up to the mark, making no significant difference. The average CTC offered for a PES student is around 6.8 LPA.

  • Amazon, LT&T, Deloitte, Cisco, and Capgemini are the top recruits for PES Banglore. Microsoft, HP, and LG are the frequent recruiters of BMS Banglore. The other colleges on the list have mass recruiters like Infosys, Wipro, and TCS.

  • If looking for a calm environment, one can pick up KIIT over MIT; but as Pune does provide better opportunities than Bhubaneswar, MIT wins over.

With a lot of options in hand, it’s natural if a student gets confused picking up the perfect college. Well, it’s always the person who has to strive in the environment and thus have to make decisions accordingly.

Which is better for mechanical engineering in Pune: VIIT, VIT, or MIT?

AD
Aditi Deshpande Posted On : August 18th, 2023
Lives in Pune,Maharashtra

I have many friends pursuing Mechanical Engineering in Pune from institutes like CIIT, VIT or MIT. Here is a comparative analysis of the two based on some common aspects

  1. Infrastructure: Infrastructure-wise, MIT is way ahead of VIIT and VIT. It has better campus facilities and a more diverse curriculum than other institutes. VIIT also has a decent infrastructure followed by VIT.
  2. Academics : All the aforementioned institutes have a well-updated curriculum mainly because they are autonomous. The faculty pool in general is of similar quality and you will have to depend on self-study more or less everywhere you go.
  3. Diversity : MIT has a more diverse student pool and you will get to interact with people coming from different states. Based on the crowd diversity, the preference order would be MIT> VIT> VIIT
  4. Practical exposure : VIT offers the best practical exposure because its Mechanical Engineering program is the oldest among the aforementioned institutes. VIIT and MIT ME branch is new so the exposure offered is very limited. In fact, these students are taken to VIT for exposure.
  5. Placements: VIIT and MIT have a similar average package of around INR 7 LPA while VIT had a lower average package of around INR 4.77 LPA.

The final decision will depend on your future prospects and inclinations.
