Doing BA (Hons.) Economics from DTU was a solid choice for me. I’ve always been passionate about economics and history, and DTU has a diverse environment with around 2,000 students. The faculty is a mix of permanent and guest professors, many of whom are from JNU and have impressive qualifications. The curriculum is designed well, but I found the economics papers a bit tougher compared to BBA. Internship opportunities are decent, mostly with startups, and companies like Byjus and Bajaj also come for placements. The average package is about 5 LPA, which isn’t bad considering the experience I’m gaining. Overall, I think it's a good program if you want to pursue higher studies later.

B.A. (Hons) in Economics is a fantastic course and a solid choice! This program is relatively new at DTU, having started in 2017, and it genuinely stands out from an academic perspective.

Here are some key points:

  • Faculty: The faculty for the BA Economics Honours is quite impressive. Many professors come from esteemed colleges within DU.
  • Curriculum: The curriculum is on par with what DU or IP University offers, ensuring a robust educational experience.
  • Admission Criteria: For admission, it's crucial to include Mathematics in your best four subjects.

Overall, pursuing a BA (Hons) in Economics at DTU is a great option!

Absolutely! I scored 96.25% in class 12th in my best 4 subjects and wasn't getting into the top colleges of DU like SRCC and St. Stephen's. I initially enrolled in DU and attended a few classes, but I wasn't satisfied. I also got selected at DTU, so I withdrew my admission from DU and joined DTU. It turned out to be a great decision! The other DU colleges (except for the top ones) can't compete with DTU.

I’m currently pursuing my BA (Hons.) in Economics at DTU, and I can say it has its pros and cons. The college has a great campus life, especially with events like Engifest, which is one of the largest fests in Delhi. The classrooms are well-equipped, and there's a good library with a variety of books.

However, the fees are quite high compared to other colleges in Delhi, costing around 3 lakh for three years. Placement opportunities are okay, with some big names visiting, but only about 20-25% of students land jobs right after graduation. I'm planning to go for an MBA, so I think this course is good for building a foundation.
