How is a day at SIMSREE?

A day at SIMSREE is quite packed, especially for the MBA course. We have classes from 9 AM to around 4 PM, which includes some breaks in between. The batch size is about 199 students, which makes the environment competitive yet motivating. The participation in class is crucial since it accounts for internal marks.

I usually hang out in the cafeteria or the library after classes, since there's not much else to do on campus. The location is great, being close to Marine Lines and Gateway of India, so we often explore those spots after college. Overall, it’s a mix of intense academic pressure and fun moments with friends.

From what I've experienced over the last two months, life at SIMSREE sits somewhere between super busy and pretty chill. The first two weeks were an intense induction period that felt quite hectic. Some days, we had up to four guest lectures lined up. Our day typically kicked off at 7:30 in the morning and stretched all the way to 9:30 at night. Many of us had to travel 2–3 hours on top of those long 14-hour days. Plus, we got assignments after 10 PM that were due by 7 AM. Basically, we all had to sacrifice some sleep during those early days, but it was definitely worth it because we learned a lot.

After the induction, things eased up a bit, with one or two lectures of 3–4 hours each day. Occasionally, there might be three lectures...

Crazy busy, to say the least! SIMSREE is famous for being driven by students. There are tons of academic and non-academic activities that keep everyone on their toes. A typical day might kick off at 8 AM and stretch until 9 PM with classes and guest lectures. These guest lectures are super helpful for understanding current corporate trends, thanks to insights from industry experts. While not every day is packed like this, especially in the first year, you might find yourself spending the whole day on campus quite often.

Each month is filled with committee activities, guest speakers, events, and competitions. With just 180 students per batch and around 12 committees, everyone has a good chance to join a committee that interests them. Committees are great for learning teamwork, leadership, soft skills, and time management, and they prepare you for unexpected but exciting challenges.

The student-driven culture at SIMSREE is a big reason students stay so busy. Unlike in some colleges, where faculty or administration call the shots and students just execute plans, at SIMSREE, students get to plan and execute how their committees should run. This means you might need to spend more time on campus, but it’s a fair trade-off.

Plus, there are several competitions to keep you engaged. So yeah, it’s hectic, but I'd say it’s totally worth it! Enjoy your time there!

A typical day for me in the MMS course at SIMSREE revolves around attending lectures, participating in discussions, and managing assignments. The faculty is experienced, but I found some lectures a bit monotonous. Classes usually run from morning till late afternoon, and we have plenty of opportunities to engage with our peers.

After classes, I like to hit the library since it’s well-stocked and air-conditioned. Despite the limited campus facilities, the vibrant student life makes up for it, especially during events like our annual fest, SIMERGENCE. It’s a good balance between studies and extracurricular activities.

In my experience at SIMSREE, a day starts with attending classes which are quite rigorous. For the MMS course, we have a good mix of theoretical and practical learning. The campus is small, but it’s close to the Churchgate station, which is handy. I usually spend my free time either studying in the library or catching up with friends. The events organized by various committees keep the atmosphere lively and engaging. While the lack of extensive facilities can be a downside, the overall experience is pretty rewarding, especially with the focus on placements and internships.
