Listen, no college can promise you a job for sure. That idea is just not true. However, Symbiosis is definitely a well-known name. When you walk around Pune, you'll notice Symbiosis has a strong reputation. So, getting a job is likely. But remember, you can't just sit in class and take it easy, then expect to land a job. Focus on competing with yourself and give it your all. If you do that, I'm confident you'll end up with a good job offer. After all, it's where I studied. Hope this helps!

Hey there,

Let me share some insights about SIMS.

Background: I'm in my first year at SIMS, so if you join the 2016-18 batch, I'll be a senior you'll meet.

Now, let's tackle your questions in reverse order:

3. Regarding placements for the current batch (my seniors), the process is still ongoing, and not everyone has been placed yet. While I can't specify the exact numbers, I believe most students have secured positions.

2. The average salary being discussed is around 7 LPA, give or take 50K. We had ICICI Bank on campus offering 5.4 LPA. Salary negotiations can happen if you have work experience, but don't expect big jumps. For instance, if a company offers 6 LPA to freshers and you ask for 9 LPA, it's unlikely to happen. Some companies, like Credit Suisse, consider up to 2 years of experience as freshers.

1. If you're curious about SIMS's quality, you might already be considering it based on the salary packages. But there's more to it, especially if you're into Marketing. There are many opportunities with startups like new milk brands or ZoomCar. The alumni network is solid, bringing companies to campus for recruitment.

Apologies if this got a bit lengthy. Feel free to ask more questions if you need any more details. I'm here to help!

Good luck with your CAT, SNAP, and other exams!

Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies in Pune offers an average MBA program. It's not particularly outstanding, but it does provide decent value for the money you spend. The SNAP exam cut-off for SIMS tends to be quite low. This is primarily because many students are children of defense personnel, who may not have qualified for more competitive colleges. This might mean the peer learning experience may not be as enriching.

However, being part of the Symbiosis network is a plus, as the name does carry some weight and you'll always be part of the Symbiosis community. Still, remember that SIMS isn't on the same level as SIBM-P or SCMHRD. It's more comparable to schools like SIIB, UBS Chandigarh, and Nirma, so keep this in mind when you're applying.

I heard they've opened a few seats for students from non-defense backgrounds this year, which could enhance the quality of the student body. When it comes to placements, you can expect offers around 6-8 lakhs per year after graduation, maybe a bit more if you really stand out.

Just a heads up: as with any advice, take it with a grain of salt. I'm not a student or graduate of SIMS, and my only link to the college is that I declined an offer from them.
