Is Greater Noida Institute of Technology good?

From my perspective, NIET isn't as impressive as they claim, especially when it comes to placements and overall college experience. Being a former student there, I can share some insights. When choosing a college, most people look at two things: the college's reputation and placement opportunities. Ratings can be different across various sites, but here's what I know about NIET.

TCS is the main company recruiting at NIET, and they accept resumes from all branches. Besides TCS, companies like UHG and Capgemini visit for CS/IT roles. There are also some companies hiring based on specific branches, but most are focused on sales, marketing, and business analyst positions. Unfortunately, there's no placement support for the Civil branch. The faculty, except for the experienced first-year teachers, aren't as skilled as one might hope.

NIET often boasts about its placements, but a closer look reveals that many jobs are in sales. Although the Indian Army and Navy visit annually, I haven't heard of anyone getting a job with them. The college considers students who pass the first round of interviews as placed, which boosts their placement statistics.

If you have a 70% average and are confident in your ability to secure a job in your field, you might consider NIET. However, with that score, you could also look at GL Bajaj or Galgotias College. The Wi-Fi isn't very useful, as you need a VPN just to access sites like YouTube. There's also a lack of festivals and exposure.

So, if you're interested in a sales career, NIET could work for you. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it unless it's your only option, and even then, proceed with caution or reconsider engineering altogether.

Nope, it's not great. I was there from 2014 to 2018, and the mechanical department is pretty decent. They have awesome teachers, and the head of the department is nice too. Mechanical was the only part of GNIT that I actually liked. The rest of the departments have poor faculty and terrible management. They even fine you for small things. No matter how low your attendance is, you can get your admit card by paying the college around 20k-30k.

They really push you to attend college and lectures all the time. The faculty isn't great, and the lectures are not worth it, as you'll realize from what I've shared so far. My friends wasted money on GATE coaching because they were forced to attend lectures daily. Third-year students can manage coaching on weekends, but for fourth-year students, coaching classes happen on regular college days, making it hard to attend both.

There are many colleges that allow students to focus on coaching and only attend some classes occasionally. Students from those colleges often do well in competitive exams. I wouldn't recommend GNIT to anyone. Hope this helps! Thanks!

The placement opportunities are virtually nonexistent unless you're in the CS or IT branches, and even then, they're quite limited. There are no cultural festivals, and even during tech events, speakers often face interruptions. The overall experience is quite dull, with the director and heads of departments being particularly disappointing.

Most teachers lack the necessary knowledge and are more focused on enforcing the 75% attendance rule, which feels pointless. The campus itself is incredibly small, like a tiny CBSE school. The management is greedy, often withholding your security deposit. For instance, if you expect a refund of ?5000 for hostel security, you might only receive about ?2500 with some excuse about meals in the mess.

After two years, from the ?10000 college security, they only return about ?4500, while imposing numerous fines on students for trivial reasons. All their ratings and placement statistics are misleading, and I got caught up in these false claims.
