My friend is currently pursuing MCA from NIT Calicut and is having the best time of his life. The program is considered to be one of the top MCA programs in India.
Overall, the MCA course at NIT Calicut is a great choice for students who are interested in pursuing a career in computer science.
MCA is offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the college. You will be given admission to the program on the basis of your result from NIMCET which is to be given for MCA. This is a common entrance test.
There are about 93 seats for this program if you are a graduate of an Indian University. Moreover, seats are also reserved for students from SC, ST, OBC, and physically disabled. These reservations are made as per MHRD, Government of India, and their guidelines.
You might want to know the eligibility requirement for admission to MNIT as well:
As of 2021, the total fees for MCA are INR 1.13 lakhs for the first year. To get the detailed fee structure visit the official website.
It's the case not just at NITT, but everywhere. It entirely depends on the visiting firm and whether they value your school percentages.
The placement cell will have all of your information entered into their placement portal, and they will be aware of everything, so if you give the firm an erroneous résumé, whether intentionally or unintentionally, they will be notified. Because there are so many students, your college will try to set minimum eligibility standards for them by requesting or something similar.
To make things clearer, I'll give you an example.
However, if a random startup comes along and offers a nice, attractive package and has policy rules similar to the ones listed above. But the placement cell can request them to ease the criteria if students have low scores. It now hinges on the company's reputation. It is applicable to every institute.
Doing an MCA from Bangalore University is certainly worth the time and money invested. It offers decent academics. Third semester onwards, the course work includes two mini projects per semester. This gives a lot of hands-on learning experience. These projects will also help you enrich your resume.
The placement will depend on how you utilize your skills and knowledge. The average CTC for MCA offered during the recent Bangalore University placements was INR 6 LPA.
For an MCA, NIT Trichy will be better. It is known for its technical courses. NIT T will give you better learning opportunities for MCA. The institute offers hands-on learning opportunities. You will learn through assignments, presentations, tests, etc.
NIT Trichy MCA placements are pretty good. Every year around 90-95% of students get placements from the branch. The highest CTC offered in the recent placement drive for MCA was INR 40 LPA.
JNU conducts the toughest entrance for MCA. Its faculty and environment are ideal for this degree. MNNIT Allahabad is a good institute, but its MCA is not comparable to JNU.
However, JNU does not have a concrete curriculum for its MCA entrance. Its entrance is conducted in a non serious manner, and the paper is difficult to crack. Moreover, it has a lot of reservations and quotas, even on such limited seats.
On the other hand, NIMCET is conducted in an organized manner, and its paper is easy to understand. The syllabus and blueprints are made available on the official website for good preparation.
Despite all this, JNU has a very professional education system. It does not offer any placements, but you’ll get good exposure on campus and land a job on your own. The MCA faculty is highly experienced, but I am not well aware of the university’s infrastructure.
Talking of MNNIT Allahabad, it is a highly reputed NIT with a good placement record. Its campus is completely ragging free, and the environment is strict on academics. But its hostels aren’t in a good shape.
I would suggest JNU New Delhi for an MCA, but even MNNIT is a decent choice.
Some of my friends attend NIT Trichy and based on the conversation I had with them, I can give you some idea about the placements at the institute.
NIT Trichy opens the placement of software companies for the MCA students. Even the most renowned companies like Epic, Facebook, and Microsoft give placement to the students of the MCA course. The highest package that was offered to the students of the NIT Trichy from the MCA course is around 64 Lakhs per annum.
According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC offered by the institute is 6 LPA. Going by the past placement highlights is safe to say you will have good placement offers for an MCA from NIT Trichy.
Background does not matter much. It is a subjective question as it depends on many factors and the factors may or may not align with one’s goals and preferences. For MCA Christ has an edge over NMIMS. If you are okay with some strict rules and dress codes then for sure Christ is a better choice.
NIT Trichy has the best placements for MCA. The placement percentage is between 90-100% . Some MCA students bag 7 digit offers, but it is not the case with everyone. The offers vary from one company to another. Those who pay attention during lectures and maintain a good CGPA have fair chances of getting a decent job offer.
MCA placement at Tezpur University is good. In the recent placement drive, the highest CTC offered was 20 LPA. Around 60% of students from MCA got placement offers.
CSE department is among the oldest department at TU. Few years back it was declared as the ‘Center of Excellence’ by MHRD for its contributions. The department offers three different courses, i.e. B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA. All the courses are well-reputed. The department organizes various seminars and workshops around the academic year. The faculty members of the department are actively engaged in various research projects.
