In CSE, which is better between Thapar University and LNMIIT Jaipur?
NIRF has ranked Thapar University 29th in the Engineering category. Whereas, LNMIIT Jaipur has been ranked 194 for B.Tech by NIRF. As Thapar university is among the finest universities for CSE in North India and LNMIIT Jaipur is an emerging college in the field of IT, these colleges are compared often. Given below is a brief comparison between the two institutes.
CSE at Thapar University
- Established in 1956, the University also has a larger alumni network as compared to LNMIIT Jaipur.
- The course fee for CSE at Thapar is 17.08 lakhs. Admissions at Thapar University is based on JEE Mains scores. The minimum eligibility criteria are 10+2 with 70% aggregate in PCM.
- The CSE department of Thapar has excellent infrastructure. It also has a great coding culture. The department has many technical and non-technical societies that organize many coding competitions, hackathons, all year round.
- In 2019, Thapar University's Highest salary package reported was 43 LPA and the average salary package was approximately 7 LPA. The top recruiters included Amazon, Microsoft, DE Shaw, JP Morgan, Infosys, etc.
Thapar University final year students are required to spend a full six month semester in the industrial projects. It also arranges 6 weeks of summer training for students of various branches including CSE.
CSE at LNMIIT Jaipur
- Admissions at LNMIIT Jaipur is based on JEE Mains scores and direct admission is offered to Central & State Board toppers. The minimum eligibility criteria are standard 12th with 60% aggregate in PCM. The total course fee is 14.8 lakhs.
- According to reports as per 2019, LNMIIT Jaipur recorded the highest salary package as 36 LPA and the average salary package 10 LPA. The top recruiters included Amazon, Oyo, Microsoft, Sapient, Goldman Sachs, etc. Students also get selected for GSoC from LNMIIT.
LNMIIT Jaipur provides opportunities for extensive research work. It also provides Summer internship programs. The programs are attended by students from IITs and NITs.
Although LNMIIT Jaipur has a lower course fee, in terms of placements, alumni network, coding culture Thapar University is better for CSE.
Which institution is better for CS: Thapar University, LNMIIT, or Nirma University?
One of my friends studied at LNMIIT, so I might be able to provide you some information about it.
CS at Thapar is combined with other courses, some of which are worthy while others are not. You have to choose the course which you are interested in. Depending on that you can opt for the college, be it Thapar or LNMIIT.
The infrastructure and facilities at LNMIIT are really good. Faculty members are enthusiastic about both academics and extracurriculars. They will guide you through every step. LNMIIT has a great coding culture. Also, you will have cooperative seniors.

I am not well aware of Thapar, I can only say that the campus and course curriculum is more or less similar to LNMIIT, unlike Nirma which can be a bit different. So finally I will suggest you go for LNMIIT. Make Thapar your second choice as the quality of the branch varies. Lastly opt for Nirma if both do not work out.
How is the faculty at LNMIIT?
Faculties are limited but well expirienced. They are available in there cabins for solving student's query. Moreover,student can mail and reach out to them after the cabin hours. Faculty whose teaching i like are Gaurav sir,Harish sir ,Sandeep sir they teach complex topics with ease and deep explaination.We have our exams once in every two months and there difficulty level is moderate to tough .
How is the campus life at LNMIIT?
Campus life is happening. 3-4 events take place every week and social life is also good. Library has variety of books and one can issue them.Sports courts are also well developed and almost every sport has a particular court for it.
How are the hostels at LNMIIT?
Hostlel facilities are great in BH-4 but other hostels lack proper renovation and facilities. Only ducts are present that too are non functional most of the times.We are not allowed to ret a PG are only medically ill people are allowed accomodation outside collage rest all have to live in campus only.
