How good is biotechnology at Manipal University?
BTech in Biotechnology has a hybrid curriculum covering areas of science, technology, and engineering focusing on research. Manipal University is One of the best colleges in Dubai with an amazing infrastructure. The professors are cooperative and are always ready to help students learn well. The institute has amazing lab facilities and placement scenarios.
Students in second and third years also can indulge in cutting-edge research. The curriculum is at par with global standards.
Overall, Biotechnology at Manipal University is a great choice indeed.
How is Manipal university for international students?
Manipal University is a very good university for international students.
Academics:
The college curriculum and the faculty members are really knowledgeable. The faculty members will help you in gaining knowledge and will also help you in gaining interest. The faculty members make the syllabus interesting by providing various kinds of assignments. The NRI students are also given due importance while teaching.
Hostel:
The college has got great infrastructure. The college has Air-conditioned rooms in the 15th and 16th blocks. These blocks are kept aside for the NRI students. There are also 17th and 18th blocks that are without AC but still very comfortable. All blocks have a TV room and a TT/rec room on every alternate floor.
Placements:
The placements of the college are also good. The mechanical, computer science and aeronautical branches get the top placements. The college also provides international placements. The staff members of the college will help you in getting good placements. If you are interested in pursuing higher studies, the college will provide letters of recommendation and help with any documents that you need.
Overall the college is very welcoming for the NRI students. The seniors and other batchmates are very friendly. You can join various clubs and committees on the college campus.
How is life at Manipal University Jaipur?
My friend is an alumnus of Manipal University Jaipur. Here are some snippets of her experience.
Curriculum:
My friend is from the CSE department. According to her, the curriculum is well-designed but she did have some gripes. Automata Theory and Compiler Design are clubbed together in the syllabus which does not give the scope to explore the Compiler Design part in depth. Open electives are not given much emphasis. The syllabus is vast but the topics are not discussed in detail.
Facilities:
The college has also tied to Coursera so that most courses with a credential can be accessed for free. You get one free year of Azure Cloud, and a Matlab student license is also available at the college if you want it.
Peer Group:
You will get to meet people from all over the country. The coding culture at the campus is great. You will find students working on C++ meta programs, Unity games, script kiddies, robotics, etc. There are students who have cracked GSoC, won hackathons, even went abroad to conduct research.
Faculty: Although the view regarding faculties is subjective, my friend only had good things to say about the CSE faculties.
Events: The quality of events has improved over the years. It conducts many hackathons around the academic year. Every year the institute also conducts TedXMUJ.
Internships:
- There are a lot of start-ups in Manipal, so securing an internship is not that difficult.
- Companies like Dell also conduct hackathons to select students for internships.
- There’s also IAESTE LC MUJ, a student-run function of IAESTE. Through which you can get internships in foreign countries such as Turkey, Germany, Poland, etc.
Placements: The average salary package was 5.3 LPA while the highest recorded CTC was 42 LPA.
MS Opportunities: There are many students from the institute doing their MS from institutes like Cornell, University of Texas, Carnegie Mellon, and others.
The hostel facility is great and Manipal as a city is quite vibrant. You will definitely have a good time at the institute.
How good is Manipal University, Jaipur, regarding food, hostel, professors, facilities, cultural activities, students, and placements?
Manipal University is a very famous and reputed university. One of my friends studied there and everything is good
from food, hostels, placements, and faculty.
- The faculty of this university is great. Most of the professors are very knowledgeable and experienced and helpful towards the students.
- The hostel is also very good as the rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are attached to the rooms. It also has a centralized AC too.
- The mess food here is also very good and in comparison to other top universities.
- There are also other options available for food like Pizza Hut which is available inside the campus.
- The university also has various clubs like dance and music club, green club, and acting club for cultural activities.
- There are other facilities available like wifi routers all over the campus and a gym is available too with all the latest equipment.

Is the Manipal University, Jaipur's BTech course AICTE approved?
Yes, Manipal University, Jaipur is approved for Engineering and technology by both AICTE and UGC.
But for Engineering in Computer Science, Mechanical or Computer Communication and Mechatronics, it's better that you consider taking admission at the main campus of Manipal University which is in Karnataka rather than Jaipur campus as the fee is almost the same at both the campus and teaching are not up to the mark at Jaipur campus. For the fee, the ROI will be very low if you opt for Jaipur Campus.
Even though Manipal University Jaipur is AICTE approved, make your decision wisely as it is a matter of your future.
Is Manipal University Jaipur good for law?
Yes, Manipal University, Jaipur is a good option for pursuing a Law degree. The university has a dedicated faculty pool. The student crowd is decent, you will get to meet many talented individuals.
Extra-curricular activities like debate, extempore, and group discussions are organized every Friday. The university conducts regular Intra moot courts. It also organizes National Moot Court competitions every year. Every top law schools participate in it.
Manipal Jaipur has different cells like Human Rights cell, International relations cell. These cells work together and create awareness among people by organizing conferences, workshops, and surveys.
Is it worth it to take admissions in the Manipal University Jaipur for a B.Tech?
Manipal University Jaipur isn’t a good option for pursuing a B.Tech degree. The degree is pretty expensive with low ROI.
Manipal Univesity Jaipur B.Tech fees are around INR 12.61 lakhs. While the average CTC stands around INR 5.43 lakhs. Most recruiting companies that visit the campus placement are from CS or IT sector. There’s aren’t many placement opportunities available for core branches.
Which is better, Manipal University Jaipur or Nirma University?
If you want to develop yourself during your undergrad studies, Manipal University Jaipur is an excellent choice compared to Nirma University. Here are some reasons why:
- Manipal University Jaipur has students from all over the country, providing an opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds. In contrast, Nirma University mostly has students from Gujarat.
- Manipal University Jaipur has been rated A+ by NAAC, while Nirma University has an A grade. This rating is based on several factors such as teaching, research, infrastructure, and governance, indicating the high-quality academics and teaching at MUJ.
- The admission process at MUJ is based on the Manipal Entrance Test, without any reservation category issues. In contrast, Nirma University fills 50% of seats with ACPC, Gujarat. The remaining 50% of seats are filled by JEE Main/GUJCET score and NRI candidates.
- MUJ provides hostel facilities with great infrastructure opposite the campus. Hostel fees might seem slightly expensive, but the facilities provided are excellent, including a half-size Olympic swimming pool, indoor sports, and great food.
- MUJ has various student clubs that focus on technical and cultural aspects. There are opportunities to participate in social work as well.
- Students need to maintain only a minimum of 75% attendance compared to Nirma University's strict 85% attendance policy, which gives ample time to focus on building skills and extracurricular activities.
- MUJ provides research opportunities for students, and they can work with faculties on their projects, which gives them practical exposure.
- The college has tie-ups with Microsoft, Autodesk, and Verizon, providing access to licensed software for free. They also have a tie-up with Coursera that provides access to a large variety of paid courses in all fields for free.
However, there are some issues that you might face at MUJ:
- WiFi speed is slow, with a quota of 60GB per month allotted for B.Tech students.
- The centrally controlled AC/heater works only from 6 pm - 6 am on weekdays, depending on the weather.
- Many events are happening throughout the year, so it might be easy to get distracted from your studies.
Is NIIT university better than Manipal University?
I have friends from both NIIT University and Manipal University. Based on their experience, I will say NIIT University is better. Here are some advantages of joining NIIT.
- NIIT offers decent academics in the field of technology. Their CSE branch is especially good.
- The green campus, surrounded by Aravali hills, is a treat for the eyes.
- The faculty pool is supportive and friendly. You can reach them, for any help you need regarding academics.
- On-campus you will meet students from all over India. Also, since the batch size isn’t huge, you will get to know your batch mates well.
- NIIT is an IT Education space. So, the industry interface is great. They have industry visits, guest lectures, industry-oriented curriculum.
- It has a good placement record. During 2021 placements, NIIT University's highest package was INR 24.08 LPA.
Overall, NIIT University is a good option for pursuing an engineering degree.
Does Manipal University provides scholarship for UG students?
After completing his higher secondary exams, my friend got into the Department of Commerce at Manipal University. He appeared for the ENAT entrance exam and he secured a national rank of 05.
When he got the letter of admission, the amount he was requested to pay was a lot lower than what was mentioned in the prospectus of the university. Every year, his fees were significantly lower than the normal fee.
He asked the head of the department if he had been granted a scholarship. It was only after he asked the finance department of the university did he come to know that he was granted a scholarship of merit. He was awarded this scholarship probably because his rank was between the 1st and 4th positions. A good rank in the entrance exams will make you eligible for scholarships.
