Studied at Amity University Kolkata (2019)

If you are looking for an open and journalistic environment, Amity University Gwalior is the right place for you. The courses here help students understand journalism right from the starting stages.

  • The faculty is also quite helpful and it encourages students to explore all the different areas in the field and find their expertise in it.
  • You will also get to go on several industrial visits where more exposure is given to practical work by the faculty.
  • It also has many other perks like a fully functioning media studio, a good classroom environment without many restrictions and rules.
  • The residential facilities are also worth it and you can expect decent placements once your degree is over.
  • You will get good support from the placement cell too.
  • The college also runs its own newspaper, magazine as well as radio in which there is massive participation by the students.

In my opinion, if you are looking to build a career in mass communications and journalism, Amity University Gwalior would be a great fit for you.

VB
Vinima Bhola Posted On : June 20th, 2025

No, you do not need to take an entrance exam in order to be admitted to Reva University's journalism programmes (including the BA in Journalism and Mass Communication). Merit screening determines admission; therefore, your scores on the qualifying exam (10+2 or PUC) are taken into account.
All you have to do is apply online via the university's official website and fulfil the qualifying requirements, which include passing your 10+2 from an accredited board. No entrance exam for Reva University's undergraduate journalism programmes is mentioned.

Which companies offer internships to students at LPU to BA in Journalism and Mass Communication students?

BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from LPU (2022 Batch)

Hello there!

My Name is Sakshi Gupta, I have completed BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from LPU. I guess I can answer this question better as I sat for placements last year.

LPU believes in practical learning and gives students in their final year so many opportunities for placements and internships and even part-time jobs. LPU uses various mediums to inform students with latest Updates and events at the university and keeps us updated regarding the lastest market trends as well.

LPU has its own university app where they post all the latest announcements, exams, fees, results, placements, and various kinds of things. So I used that app during my placements to get the latest information related to webinars, seminars, and placement and internship opportunities for students. I have not seen a single day when there is no announcement for an internship at that app.

The top companies that offer internships at LPU to BA Journalism and Mass Com graduates are India Today, Times of India, HT Media, Zee Media, Sony, Red FM etc.

LPU also trains students from scratch and provides them Industrial Trainings and placements. For some courses at LPU it is compulsory for students to do a 30 - 45 days internship or Summer training, full-term mandatory internships. Hence LPU offers internships to students.

Students become eligible for campus placements in their third year of college. the college provides high-end placement opportunities including companies such as accenture, Bane, and Co. etc. Even though these are amazing opportunities the companies pick only very less students for their placements. last year Unilever had given placement to one of the students studying BMS. Students need alteast 9 cgpa to usually get these placements along with other experiences and talents that they possess.

How is the course curriculum of Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Journalism and Mass Communication) in St Xavier's Mumbai?

A

When I had read the course brochure, it highlighted a broad range of both theoretical and practical approach on media studies and journalism. but for the past two year, I have noticed that they have been teaching a few similar topics repeatedly. the practical subject teachers for adobe illustrator and Indesign were assigned way into the semester and we happened to lose a lot of time learning the softwares. the course needs more real life based subjects such as search engine optimisations etc. so that it may be useful in real-life. exams are mostly medium to hard level and there are 6 exams per year, including two end semester exams and 4 CIA exams. for my course the cia exams are mostly project based rather than written exams.
