How is civil engineering in IET Lucknow?
One of my friends pursued Civil Engineering from IET Lucknow. According to him, Civil engineering at IET Lucknow is really good. Let me share some facts I gathered from him, which might help you understand the question a bit better.
- When my friend joined the college, the word was that IET Lucknow has one amongst the best faculty when it comes to the Civil Engineering Department.
- The curriculum requires you to follow standard books which help in building fundamental concepts and are helpful for the preparation of various competitions.
- As far as the laboratories of the department are concerned, some laboratories are not up to date but rest assured, these are amongst the best you will get in any AKTU college.
- The laboratories which are not up to mark, still have most of the instruments in working condition.

The Civil Engineering course at IET Lucknow is good. It is suggested that you should go for it, as it will help you shape your career ahead. Civil Engineering might have a bit fewer placements than CSE or IT, but on a standard basis, it is quite a good institution.
How do I choose between IIT Delhi engineering physics, civil, production & industrial, and chemical engineering?
I will restrict my answer to Engineering Physics and Chemicals only as I know the same only.
- The major criterion followed at IIT Delhi by all the branches is a well-maintained CG. To secure good placements one has to constantly score a good CG throughout the program.
- During your admission, the department does not play any role but your 85 percent constraint on minimum possible strength does.
- Engineering Physics is a unique branch for those highly passionate about Physics and want to pursue higher studies in the same
- To secure core jobs, one has to move to MTech in Engineering Physics from BTech in Engineering Physics.
- For Chemical Engineering students, BTech is more than enough to secure decent packages and great research opportunities outside India.
- Consultancy and Analytics jobs are offered equally to students of all the departments
- Engineering Physics graduates usually take up consultancy or IT jobs
- Chemical Engineering is the most laid-back department of IIT Delhi with very flexible academics thus making it easy to maintain a decent CG throughout.
I wouldn’t suggest anyone go for Engineering Physics if they have no intention of pursuing it later. Instead, look for other options in BTech and explore your interests.
Which one is better: IIT Kanpur civil, IIT Guwahati or IIT BHU mechanical?
If you are certain about your branch choice, then go for Civil at IIT Kanpur. If you aren’t sure about the branch then choosing IIT Kanpur among these three IITs will be better. In 2021, NIRF ranked IIT Kanpur #6 in the country. Although it’s not easy you can change your branch after a year. But you can’t change your college.
What percentage of civil engineering students at IIT Madras end up taking core civil engineering jobs?
The exact percentage is difficult to tell because the data is available only with the Training and Placement Cell of IIT Madras. The biggest problem with Civil Engineering is that you will not get any immediate opportunities in the same stream. So many of the students who need a job immediately with a good pay package usually shift to other streams.
It is not the case that people are not interested in pursuing core civil engineering jobs. But they want to study what can give them jobs immediately. Unfortunately, this is difficult in core civil engineering jobs. These jobs demand higher degrees which the undergraduate students lack and thus are not considered.
Which is the better college for BTech civil engineering: FISAT Kochi or SCMS Cochin or Saintgits?
FISAT Kochi has been ranked at 96th for Engineering among Indian Engineering colleges, SCMS Cochin has been ranked 85th and Saintgits (SCE) is ranked in the bracket of 125-150 among Indian engineering colleges. All the above colleges are approved by the AICTE.
Admission Process:
- Admissions to the FISAT BTech program is based on the scores obtained inKEAM/JEE Mains, followed by counseling, and admission to the program through management quota is based on the rank in the merit list.
- At SCMS Cochin, Admission is through counseling based on rank obtained in Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical (KEAM), and the same is for the Management quota.
- At SCE, admission is granted on the basis of the performance in KEAM. The minimum age for an applicant should be 17.

- Some of the top recruiters of SCMS Cochin include IBS Software, Infosys, HCL, Info view, MRF, MU Sigma, Mytrah Energy, UST Global, Wipro, Tech Mahindra are the top recruiters. Around 80% of students got placed last year at SCMS Cochin.
Accenture, Amazon, Bosch, Rolls Royce, MRF, Nila constructions, Indian navy, Infosys, TCS, Shobha developers, are some of the major recruiters at SCE. The college provided placements to around 70% of the students from the Civil batch last year.
Which NIT is better for civil engineering, NIT Surathkal or NIT Warangal?
If you are considering pursuing engineering and wondering which branch to choose, there are some important things you should keep in mind while making a decision. Here are some key points to consider:
- If earning a hefty package from a job is your dream, it's better not to opt for Civil engineering. While there is some scope for growth in this field, the construction industry in India is not yet mature enough to offer salaries comparable to those in the software industry. Managers in the software industry often earn the same amount as director-level employees in the construction industry.
- While you may think that there is less competition in Civil engineering, this is not necessarily the case. Every year, a large number of Civil engineers graduate from colleges all over India, saturating the construction industry. This means that there is a lot of competition for jobs in this field.
- If you have a family business in construction or plan to start one in the future, then pursuing Civil engineering may be a good option for you. In this case, it may be helpful to join a nearby college and get involved in construction activities simultaneously with your studies. This will give you practical experience and help you gain a better understanding of the industry.
- Keep in mind that the quality of your college matters initially, but after a few years, your experience and skills will be more important. So, even if you attend a lesser-known college, you can still succeed in the field if you have the right skills and experience.
If you are still interested in pursuing Civil engineering despite the challenges, then you may want to consider NIT Warangal. According to the author of the original statement, this institution is better than NIT Surathkal. However, keep in mind that this is a subjective opinion and you should do your own research before making a decision.
Is civil engineering from NIT Calicut good?
NIT Calicut is good for Civil Engineering. The department has an experienced faculty base. The laboratories have the apparatus needed to perform exercises but the instruments are old and don’t work properly. But the lab sessions are very useful, you can learn a great deal by attending these, The Civil Engineering Association also provides good workshops often.
NIT Calicut placements are good for Civil Engineering. Around 75-80% of students get placed through the campus drive. The average CTC offered is around INR 8 LPA.
Which has the better faculty in civil engineering, IIT Guwahati or IIT BHU?
Honestly speaking, this internet-controlled era hardly requires good teachers as everything is available on the net. You can get in touch with internationally proclaimed professors with just a click. As far as IIT faculty is concerned, all IITs have similar degree holders that are quality knowledgeable.
A good teacher is the one that hones your talents to the fullest. They not only help you acquire knowledge but also shape your thinking style. Every institute has a few teachers that influence a student in a unique way. I am sure both IIT Guwahati and IIT BHU will have similar teachers.
Ultimately, what matters is the environment and the activities that these colleges will provide us to expand our intellect and maximize our talents. Pay little focus on the faculty and look for the right field to enter that will help you shape your career. Personally, I would suggest you go for IIT Guwahati as it has more open-minded and active people in that area which will give you considerable freedom to think and perform.
Which department is better in NIT Trichy, Civil Engineering or Chemical Engineering?
It’s difficult to compare these branches or any other branches of engineering until and unless you specify the parameters of comparison. Scope, placements, future opportunities, etc., play an important role in differentiating the branches. Also, you should choose based on your interest and future goal while opting for a branch rather than on such parameters.
Now, if you do not have any interest in any particular branch and like most of the students out there, are doing it for the B.Tech tag, you can opt for any of the branches. Both the branches at NIT Trichy are at par. You will get decent placement opportunities from both the branch, provided you maintain decent CGPA. According to the recent placement highlights, the average CTC offered by NIT Trichy is 6 LPA.
How is the placement for civil engineering in Nirma university?
B.Tech is the flagship course of all the courses offered to undergraduate students. The placements for this course are as good as those of any NIT or IIT. Big names such as Morgan Stanley and another tech, financial, and management companies visit the campus to offer placements to its students.
Looking at the market’s current scenario, most of the students at Nirma University choose to go for pursuing their Masters in Business Studies. They even end up going abroad for pursuing core subjects while some even join their family business. The placements at Nirma University do not manage to generate that sort of hype. This is seen most often during the placements for the students of the department of civil engineering.
Prepare yourself for the future during the time you are pursuing your degree. The college prepares you for facing the world. Hone your skills and you will get huge positive responses from potential recruiters during your placements.
