This is one of the most common questions asked by students in their first year at RGPV. Most of these students are admitted based on the score obtained in the CLC round. Due to this, they are only left with 2-3 options(Mechanical or Petrochemical) to avail seats.
It would not be possible for you to upgrade the branch assigned to you during enrollment. If you have a good academic record, the seats are still offered on the basis of vacancy.
For instance, if a certain branch has a seat available for an OBC candidate, then a General category student cannot apply for it. If in any case, none of the OBC candidates applied for the seat only then you can have a chance.
Even if you have a higher score and have no backlogs, in comparison with an OBC candidate having few backlogs, the seat would still get allocated to him.
I know a few people from RGPV, and based on what I heard from them, I will say that it’s true that academics are not up to the mark at the institute. During semester exams, students use the Shivani book to pass the following technical courses (which includes questions from the previous 20 years). This prevents you from building up concepts.
Now the placement of the institute is also not that good. The recent placement statistics for the institute are as follows.
| Institutes | UIT RGPV |
| Average CTC | 3 LPA |
| Highest CTC | 8 LPA |
| Top recruiters | Cognizant, Amazon, TCS |
Spending four years in RGPV with a 91 percent grade in class 12th would be a waste of time and effort. So, rather than doing B.E. from RGPV, It would be advised to pursue any other option if you are planning to pursue Engineering in the EC branch.
I have friends from both UIT RGPV Bhopal and MITS Gwalior, so I think I can give you some information about the institutes. Here are the placement highlights for UIT RGPV and MITS Gwalior.
| Institutes | MITS Gwalior | UIT RGPV |
| Average CTC | 3-4 LPA | 3 LPA |
| Highest CTC | 20 LPA | 8 LPA |
| Top recruiters | Microsoft, Tata, Google, Mahindra | Cognizant, Amazon, TCS |
Now, when it comes to colleges, I can say that they are nearly the same with no such drastic difference. So if you are to choose either of the two, then you can choose based on the distance between them and your hometown. Choose one in which you live or one that is close to your hometown. Going too far from your hometown won’t be worth your money, time, and efforts. You will eventually acknowledge this by the end of the four years of your B.tech degree.
No, this is not true. UIT RGPV has an excellent atmosphere. Following are some tips for you to know beforehand:
Good luck, I hope you have a lifetime experience at UIT.
When the three are compared, Truba falls far short of LNCT and UIT. Because LNCT is a private institution and UIT is a government institution, it is recommended that you attend UIT. The reason for this is that it is always preferable to study in a government college rather than a private one. Private institutions charge exorbitant tuition fees, and if you are not a local, you may have debts for room rent, bills, and food, amounting to around 5 lakh or even more for a graduate-level course. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee you a placement.
At UIT, you must keep yourself good enough academically to find a seat on campuses that will keep you on track to work hard and earn a first-class degree.
UIT RGPV is one of the premier engineering institutes in Central India. The students after pursuing CSE from UIT RGPV get to learn computer languages like Java, C++ and develop complex research programs.
ET course from IET-DAVV helps you to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in high-tech manufacturing. IET DAVV is one of the top engineering colleges in Indore and ranks 30th in NIRF Ranking. The placement record is more than 90%.

Campus life:-
Faculty:-
The faculties are mostly friendly and supportive. They are very much cooperative and help the students in every aspects.
It depends on the choice of the students. However, the placement of IET-DAVV is much better than UIT RGPV.
Both institutes are reputed in Bhopal. The main difference between the two institutes is that LNCT is a private institute while UIT Bhopal is a Govt. Institute.
One of my friends studied in LNCT and it turns out that they have very good placement. If you are willing to get into the private sector or MNCs, then surely go for it. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute ranges around 3-8 LPA. However, attendance rules are quite strict at LNCT as they ask for 75% mandatorily.
UIT, on the contrary, does not have any issues with your attendance owing to the fact that it is a government college. That can be taken as an added advantage if you are willing to prepare for some exam on the sidelines so that college attendance will not hinder your objectives. Just look out for what works best for you.
There have been a lot of cases when students have changed their branch after the first year. My brother from RGPV did the same when he was pursuing PCT. He changed his branch from PCT to EC.
Thus, you are all free to change the branch if you fit the criteria of changing a branch.
If you've decided to enroll at UIT RGPV and are interested in learning more about ECE, yes, compared to all other branches, ECE is a good option. As some of my friends studied there, I might be able to share some facts about the college I got to know from them.
| Categories | ECE at UIT RGPV |
| Course Fee | 1.78 lakh |
| Course Duration | 4 years |
| Highest CTC | 18 LPA |
| Average CTC | 8 LPA |
| Recruiting Companies | Capgemini, Oracle, Tech Mahindra, Accenture, etc. |
If you are in ECE, there are chances that you will be placed in MNCs such as TCS, Infosys, and other IT companies, but there are very few chances that you will be placed in a core electronics company.
VIT Bhopal is the 16th best engineering institute of India as per NIRF ranking. VIT provides many scopes for CSE and provides 90% placements.
