As you have come up with this doubt, I assume that you have got a good rank in UPSEE. So, congratulations on securing a good rank in UPSEE that gave you the opportunity to choose from such elite institutions.
Unless and until it is an IIT, core branches are always a better choice than non-core branches.

Forget about non-core branches in UP government colleges, there is not much facilities and exposure. So, if you are getting a chance, it is highly recommended to go for CSE in BIET or KNIT because in CSE or IT, you just need a laptop and good internet connectivity and these colleges provide WIFI facility. You will have to indulge yourself in regular practice to bring the best out of yourself, as everything is available on the internet.
CSE would be a better choice if you look forward to getting placed after your graduation. If you want to pursue higher studies then, non-core branches at IET Lucknow will give you a better exposure such as coaching institutes, because of its location.
Here is some information to assist you in choice-making-
Snapdeal, Amazon, Google, etc. visit IIEST Shibpur and offer equal placement opportunities to both IT and CSE students. My roommate from IT got into Snapdeal through campus placement.
IEM isn’t a well-known college. It is a local college unlike IIEST, which is an institute of national importance. The campus size of IEM is very small. Big companies don’t usually visit small colleges like IEM.
The college tag has a value of its own. Besides, the opportunities and exposure offered by IIEST are immense.
Thus, I would recommend you opt for IT at IIEST Shibpur.
IIT Indore CSE placements are great and this year too the branch managed to secure 100% placements. The average package stood at INR 30.32 LPA while the highest stood at INR 48.5 LPA which was the second highest after Electrical. The top companies visiting the campus are
IIT Indore has the best placement scenario among the new IITs and the credit goes to the IT hub.
B.Tech CS offered by MANIT has its own cons. Here is some information about the same-
The CSE offered at MANIT Bhopal is decent, and requires a lot of effort from your side. I would suggest you learn C programming language before joining the college.
Yes, you can surely attempt your JEE Mains/Advanced/BITS. Many students do the same. There are (and have been) at least 1 or 2 such students in every batch of NIT Raipur.
But I would advise you not to opt for just any other NIT. Choose an NIT which is at least 5-6 ranks above NIT Raipur. Otherwise, switching to another NIT will prove ineffective. The same goes for IIITs, choose only the old ones.
This is because NIT Raipur offers decent placements for CSE, at par with the NITs of the same stature. So wasting a year for NIT Jamshedpur or NIT Durgapur will be fruitless. If you go for JEE counseling, you’ll have to withdraw from your NIT Raipur seat first. To be on the safe side, go for the counseling only with a score high enough to get you CSE in a better ranking NIT. Otherwise, you might get NIT Raipur once again. This has happened with students in the past.
I hope this advice will help you make wise decisions regarding your college switch.
Both NIT Silchar as well as IIIT Jabalpur are backed by the Government of India and have similar facilities. The campus, faculty, and alumni network are great in both cases. However, there are some additional parameters in which IIIT Jabalpur fares better making it a more preferable choice. Some of them have been mentioned below
Overall, if you are passionate about academics and research, then go for IIIT Jabalpur but if you want a more vibrant college life choose NIT Silchar.
If you compare them in terms of placement, infrastructure, ambiance, and alumni network BIT Mesra has an upper hand over MANIT Bhopal.
Being a 60 years old institute, BIT has an alumni network spread globally at Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon. One of the alumni even won Oscars recently for the best-animated movie.
BIT has great records in ICPC contests. The campus is amazing. Seniors are very helpful. The campus is ragging-free and poses an amazing infrastructure. IET, IEEE, ACM conducts various free workshops to enhance the skills of students.
MANIT Bhopal has an edge over BIT Mesra in terms of tuition fees. NITs are even regarded highly in terms of their brand name. This is the reason why BIT has a higher cutoff compared to NITs.

If you are considering IIIT Bhagalpur as a new college, it is important to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of attending a newly established institution. On the other hand, IIT Guwahati has a well-established reputation as one of the premier IITs in the country. Here are some things to keep in mind:
In conclusion, while IIIT Bhagalpur may have potential as a new college, it is important to weigh the risks and benefits of attending a newly established institution. If you are looking for a well-established institution with a strong reputation, then IIT Guwahati may be a better choice. The college's history of producing successful engineers and strong funding may provide you with a better overall educational experience and greater career opportunities.
Academics is the top most priority of IIIT Delhi. Everything else takes a backseat. This may be because it is branded as a research institute.
If you wish to pursue research in CSE or complete your MS/Ph.D. from a foreign university, choose IIIT Delhi. Academically, IIITD is comparable to IIT Bombay, IIIT Hyderabad, etc. But don’t choose IIIT Delhi if you are planning for an MBA later on. In this case, you might end up dropping out due to a loss of interest in this course.
As for placements, more than 95% of B.Tech CSE students are placed each year. However, very few non-tech companies visit the campus. As ECE receives very few core companies, students from both branches compete against each other for tech jobs.
Based on your own priorities and goals, decide whether or not to choose IIITD for your CSE course.
I feel LMNIIT CSE is a much better choice than NIT Agartala CSE provided that you have the financial means to get admission there. Here is why I feel it's better than NIT Agartala
So, is better to look beyond the NIT tag and choose LMNIIT because the tag does not matter much more than academics and placements.
