Which B-school is harder to get into when you have a 'mediocre' academic profile and 1 yr of work experience, FMS Delhi or IIM K, L, and I?
Among the above B-schools, FMS will be easier to enter because other IIMs like IIM K, IIM L, and IIM I give more weightage to past academic performance. FMS selection will be based on Personal Interviews, Group Discussions, and CAT scores.
IIM K gives 40% weightage while the initial shortlisting of candidates for Personal Interviews is contrary to IIM L and IIM Indore which gives only 20% weightage. IIM Indore gives no weightage to work experience where IIM K gives only 5% and IIM L gives 10% weightage.
All in all, if you are a mediocre student then you have to outperform others in terms of CAT score and PI/GD performance. Indore is home for freshers and competing here will be difficult but you should focus more on FMS then IIM L and then IIM K for your shortlisting and put your best foot forward and convert your calls.

Are vehicles allowed in IIM Rohtak and Indore for IPM students?
IIM Rohtak is a green campus that prioritises environmental safety, and students are not permitted to use vehicles on campus.
During COVID times, IIM Indore restricted the ability of IPM students to commute or even bring vehicles to the campus. Cycles may be permitted depending on the college, but they are currently uncommon at IIM Rohtak.
Which is better for a fresher, MDI Gurgaon HR or IIM Indore Mumbai campus?
Both IIM Indore Mumbai Campus and MDI Gurgaon are very good institutes for Management Studies. Because I know some people studying in both these institutes, I can give you a brief overview of the college.
- Both institutes are on a par with each other on an academic level however there is a slight difference when it comes to job opportunities and such.
- In IIM Indore, Mumbai Campus every student gets the opportunity to get an MBA without being forced to select between any specializations with the MBA degree.
- They are free to select any specialization or not.
- This helps all the students to learn more about their interests.
- This also allows students to explore different fields and find out what they particularly excel at enabling maximum career satisfaction.
- Another factor is the alumni network, IIM has definitely a better alumni network than MDI.
- It becomes easier for better job opportunities through the alumni network which are otherwise harder to get.

MDI Gurgaon is good, especially in HR Management. But students in MDI are somewhat forced to pursue their flagship course, HR. So therefore it is suggested that you go for IIM Indore to receive better opportunities and can select from several options.
Can I drop one year for the IPMAT (IIM Indore)?
It is a risky option to drop a year for IPMAT because the acceptance rate is extremely low i.e. 0.7%. It would be better to keep other options as a backup in place.
You can start studying for other entrances as well or get enrolled for a course if you want to save a year. You can also leave and go for IPM a year later if you get selected.
But, if you think that you are very serious about IPM, and you will do whatever it takes to get on by preparing rigorously after taking a drop for a year, and if you have a strong belief that you will get into it, then consider taking a drop.
What are the options of higher studies after Integrated program in Managment (IPM) from IIM Indore?
There are several options for which you can opt after the Integrated program in Management, IPM. The variety of courses include the following.
- ISB Certificate Program in Business Analytics
- Fellow Programs in Management from IIMs
- NSE's Certification in Financial Markets,
- SAP Courses
- Executive MBA from a reputed University
- Ph.D. in management
- Chartered Financial Analyst
- Financial Risk Manager (FRM)
- Doctor of Business and many others.
These courses can add to your existing knowledge and can add to your resume that can help you in the long run for the jobs that you apply for. Also pursuing these courses from a well-reputed university and gaining experience through internships and other projects can help you to become a master of one particular field.
Does the section-wise cutoff matter in the IPMAT IIM Indore?
Yes, the sectional cutoff does matter in IPMAT IIM Indore. You need to clear all the three cutoffs to be considered for an interview: QA, VA and Overall.

Will there be double intake of IPM students at IIM Indore?
If the current scenario is accurate, the student intake of IPM will be doubled only if the IIM bill is passed. This move has already brought a downgrade in the image of IIM Indore. Doubling the intake of students will more than dampen the image of IIM Indore. This step will make it one of the worst business schools in the country.
The batch already has around 120 students so it may not be possible to be in charge of a bigger batch. It is difficult enough already.
There is also a lack of capable faculty given the fact for the first 3 years, you will be taught by guest faculty.
Is the IPM course at IIM Indore better than doing engineering, followed by management in top IIMs?
If you are willing to pursue MBA after the completion of your engineering then IPM is the good option for you as you can complete your IPM in five years while engineering and MBA together will be for the entire six years. If you go for IPM, you will have one year of job experience after six years.
In the IPM program, you will get to learn relevant courses in the undergraduate (first three years), while the things you will learn in engineering, will not be of much use in an MBA.
IPM gives you a chance of doing an MBA from an IIM. If you want you can also attempt CAT to get into another IIM, after 3 years of the course.
If you are determined to do an MBA after gaining some experience, then IPM gives that option too. After two years of the IPM program, you will have the chance to work for two years. After that, you can come back and pursue your MBA from IIM Indore.
What sort of jobs do you get after the BBA and MBA degrees at IIM Indore?
IIM Indore BBA and MBA graduates can work in several businesses and industries. Interests, talents, and job goals determine employment paths after these degrees. IIM Indore BBA and MBA alumni' most popular professional paths:
For BBA:

Can a person graduating from IIMs like LIK and even the new IIMs like Ranchi and Trichy ever catch up to the graduates from ABC and get a similar package?
- Students who have graduated from IIM LIK can catch up to IIM ABC relatively easily or may end up at the same level by the end of their postgraduate program. IIM Trichy will eventually catch up with IIM LIK, though it may take around 5 years. IIM Ranchi, on the other hand, will take longer to reach the same level.
- IIM LIK catching up with IIM ABC may take 3-8 years. With the presence of good FMCG/Consulting/Financial Services Companies, a jump or two could bring them to the same level. IIM Trichy and Ranchi will take a very long time to catch up with IIM ABC in this category.
- The top 10% of students from IIM LIK and IIM ABC evolved as toppers after at least 18 months of hard work. There will be a significant difference between anyone in this category, regardless of whether they are from IIM ABC or LIK. While there may be a difference in starting packages due to the reputation of the institute, it will be made up for in subsequent years. It is not clear how long it will take for students from IIM Trichy or Ranchi to reach this level.
