How is your daily routine at PGIMS Rohtak? What are your class timings and your timetable?
The daily routine at PGIMS Rohtak depends on the ongoing events, class schedule, class tests, and your interests. One of my close friends shared his routine as a 1st year MBBS student at PGIMS Rohtak
His day began around 6 in the morning. He liked jogging for about 45 minutes in the huge playground after which he would go for Babubhai's tea.
He would take a bath by 7:30 AM and then have tea again in the mess.
By 8:00 AM he would get ready for college and head to the mess for breakfast. After breakfast, he would reach the college at 8:50 AM. Sometimes the ECE Physiology classes start at 8:00 AM so the mess starts at 7:00 AM.
The duration of the first batch of classes is 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Usually, the following schedule is followed
- Physiology classes on Monday
- Biochemistry classes on Wednesday & Friday
- Histology classes on Thursday
- Dissection Hall on other days
From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, 2 lectures each of 1 hour mostly of Anatomy and Physiology or Biochemistry take place.
The lunch break starts from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The food served is delicious.
Next, a practical class of either Anatomy or Physiology or AETCOM takes place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The class schedule also keeps changing but you got the idea.
4 p.m. marks the end of the day for the students. You can do whatever you want. Some students like to visit the market to buy groceries while some prefer sleeping. Some play sports while some bookworms spend their time in the library. Dinner is served around 8:00 PM after which students head to their rooms. This pretty much sums up my daily routine at PGIMS Rohtak.
Should I choose AIIMS Madurai or PGIMS Rohtak?
I will always recommend you to choose PGIMS over AIIMS Madurai mainly because PGIMS is a very old Institute established as early as 1959 while AIIMS Madurai is a new college and will take time to establish itself. Moreover, students of AIIMS Madurai have to study along with students of Ramanathapuram Medical College.
So, I will suggest you not to run behind the AIIMS tag.
How lucky do you feel to be in a medical college, especially in PGIMS Rohtak?
One of my friends chose to pursue medicine from PGIMS Rohtak. The academic ambiance and the passion of the students here motivated him a lot. He felt like the college had become his second home. He learned many new things every day. He enjoyed studying Anatomy and the Art of dissection although he struggled initially. He was always regular to the lectures.
He feels extremely lucky to be a part of PGIMS Rohtak which brought him one step closer to his dream.
Which is better, PGIMS Rohtak or AIIMS Rishikesh?
AIIMS Rishikesh is definitely better than PGIMS Rohtak. It's one of the fattest developing medical institutes and is reaching new heights every year. Every year, more PG seats are added, maximum in all peripheral AIIMS. With the appointment of the new director, many top-notch facilities have been added and the accommodations have been improved considerably.
AIIMS Rishikesh has one of the best blood banks in India and has some of the rarest machines in the country. Its Radiology department has an MRI of 3 Tesla and a CT scan of 256 slices which is only available in a few places in India.
The institute is funded by the Central Government and is located in Rishikesh, one of the most beautiful cities in India. It has some of the best faculties that focus a lot on MBBS students. The institute has several STS projects and intra-mural projects.
So, definitely choose AIIMS Rishikesh over PGIMS.
Should I go for AIIMS Nagpur or PGI Rohtak?
Without any doubt, PGI Rohtak is a better choice than AIIMS Nagpur. I am also mentioning some points that work in favor of my stance.
- PGI Rohtak was established as early as 1960, while AIIMS Nagpur is a newly established college in 2018. It lacks a reputation and has less experience staff.
- PGI Rohtal is huge and spreads across an area of 350 acres while AIIMS Nagpur has only 150 areas.
- The clinical exposure and patient load at PGI Rohtak are way ahead of AIIMS Nagpur
- PGI has the advantage of the State quota for PG which is lacking in AIIMS Nagpur.
- Locals of Haryana can go to and fro their homes on weekends which is not possible for people of Nagpur.
- Rohtak has a calm vibe with a peaceful life and friendly people were Nagpur gives the hustle-bustle vibes of a city and has a lot of pollution.
- PGI has a huge batch size in comparison to AIIMS Nagpur meaning more competition and growth.
- AIIMS Nagpur has a diverse student body so you might face a language barrier while PGI mostly has people from Haryana.
Although AIIMS Nagpur is growing at a fast pace it won't be able to reach the level of PGI Rohtak in the near future.
Where should I go for pursuing MBBS PGIMS Rohtak or NDMC Delhi Hindu Rao Hospital?
If you are a medical student looking to pursue a postgraduate degree, it's important to consider your options carefully. One option you may have heard of is the PGI Rohtak, which is a well-known medical institution. However, there is another option that you should strongly consider: Hindu Rao Hospital in Delhi.
Here are some reasons why you should choose Hindu Rao over PGI Rohtak:
- Hindu Rao Hospital has reserved seats for postgraduate degree programs, which means that you are more likely to get a spot in your desired program.
- By staying in Delhi, you will have access to a large and competitive healthcare market. This will help you acquire skills that even students from reputed institutions like KGMC, Stanley Medical College, and Madras Medical College may not have.
- Delhi is the capital of India and has a thriving medical community. You will have opportunities to attend conferences, workshops, and other events that can help you stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and techniques.
- Living in Delhi will also expose you to a diverse range of patients, which will help you develop your clinical skills and empathy.

In summary, while PGI Rohtak is certainly a reputable institution, Hindu Rao Hospital in Delhi offers many advantages that you should consider. By choosing to study in Delhi, you can acquire skills and experiences that will help you stand out in the competitive medical market.
Where should I go for pursuing MBBS PGIMS, Rohtak or NDMC Delhi (Hindu Rao Hospital) ?
Go for PGIMS Rohtak and dont even think twice. PGIMS Rohtak is one of the oldest and most reputed colleges in North India. It has some of the most learned and experienced faculty members many of whom are best-selling authors of medical textbooks.
NDMC is just an ordinary medical college not anywhere near the standards of PGIMS Rohtak. It's associated with the Hindurao Hospital which is quite well known in Delhi. However, the medical faculty and the standard of medical training are rumored to be substandard. Moreover, the MCI has canceled the Recognition of NDMC quite a few times already. So, I will not suggest you take the risk of joining this college just because it's located in Delhi.
Choose PGIMS Rohtak to stay on the safe side.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of joining AIIMS Rishikesh over Pgims Rohtak?
AIIMS Rishikesh is the choice of many students over PGIMS Rohtak. Here are some facts about AIIMS Rishikesh that might help with your decision-making:
- The number of Seats in PG, hostel facilities, and other facilities at AIIMS Rishikesh have all become even better than before
- AIIMS Rishikesh has one of the best blood banks in India with machines available only in certain medical facilities

- The institute is run by the central government

These are some advantages of joining AIIMS Rishikesh. But you should always check your situation and personal preferences while making the final decision. You should also check PGIMS, Rohtak course details, placements, fee structure, etc.
Overall, a fairly large number of students tend to prefer AIIMS Rishikesh over PGIMS Rohtak. This may also result from the tag that AIIMS institutions bring along. AIIMS Rishikesh is looked after by the central government, which is another advantage over PGIMS Rohtak, which is a state medical college.
How is life in PGIMS Rohtak other than studies? Do students have other things to do?
Life at PGIMS Rohtak is a great experience, both academically and socially. Along with their studies, students have a variety of extracurricular activities to choose from, such as sports teams, clubs, and organizations. These activities offer opportunities for students to pursue their interests, make new friends, and develop leadership skills. Additionally, the university has a vibrant cultural scene, with regular events and performances for students to enjoy. Every city and college has its own unique ambiance which you must be ready to be a part of to enjoy your time to the fullest. Rather than being prejudiced, it's better to adjust yourself sooner.
PGIMS Rohtak is one of the best North Indian medical colleges second only to New Delhi colleges. The institute may not provide a very vibrant nightlife but the living conditions will be better than most 2nd tier cities of India. There are enough nonveg options here and many places to explore with your friends. Students love spending their evenings at D Park and enjoying parathe at Kharawar.
Overall, PGIMS Rohtak provides a well-rounded educational experience for its students.
How is the girl's hostel at PGIMS Rohtak?
The kind of hostel you are allotted at PGIMS Rohtak depends on the course you opt for. MBBS students are usually allotted 3 hostels depending on the year of their course. Usually, first-year MBBS girls are allotted the Yamuna Hostel which is located near the OPD, while second-year MBBS students are allotted Krishna Hostel which comes under MDU and PGI and lastly, the 3rd year, students are transferred to the Ganga Hostel near the auditorium. Let's look at the hostel facilities of each of these hostels individually
- Yamuna Hostel: This is the most decent hostel that serves amazing food. The first and second-floor bathrooms are cleaned regularly. You will find the warden to be a little strict so if you have brought electric kettles and iron, keep them hidden.
- Krishna Hostel: This hostel has spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, and average food. The biggest drawback is the distance from college so you will have to arrange a convenience of your own although a bus picks up and drops students too.
- Ganga Hostel: This is the worst hostel almost in ruins. The facilities are pathetic.
