Which is better, Jain University, Presidency University, or MVJ College?

One of my friends completed his B.Tech from MVJCE Bangalore. According to him, the college management does not function properly. This creates a lot of problems for the students.

But otherwise, MVJCE is good for engineering studies. However, the placement records are quite average.

I studied at Jain University, and won’t personally recommend it. As for Presidency University, I would suggest you consult some seniors from there to get a clear idea.

Is it easy to score 95%+ at Presidency University, Bangalore for a BTech in CSE in all semesters and also do many projects, competitions, hackathons, internships, research publications, and startups?

In terms of percentile, you can surely score 99%+. There will always be a conventional topper from every batch even if everyone performs poorly in their academics.

  • You will find many students securing a 10/10 CGPA from good institutes as they follow relative grading.
  • If someone secures 60/150 while most of their classmates are struggling to score even 30, the professor could decide to give them an ‘A’ which is not even similar to scoring 100% marks.
  • But, in absolute terms, no, you can’t imagine someone scoring about 95% in almost every semester they appeared as it will directly imply the college holds a very low bar for evaluation.

The Presidency University, Bangalore gives marks for showing up and just for filling up the pages in exams. Thus it is not such a big problem.

Is Presidency University in Bangalore nice or not?

SC
Shubham Chandola Posted On : June 8th, 2021
BA from Presidency University

My friend and I studied at the Presidency University in Bangalore in 2018. It is a very good university for most of the programs. Of course, you'd find some negative criticism depending on subjective opinion, such as the few complaints about the strict management, however, it is a good thing if the management is a bit disciplined.

Some of its highlights are as follows-

  • It has a huge campus of 64 acres and top-notch amenities with brilliant faculty. Most students tend to form a good opinion of it all.
  • Another factor that helps the university to excel, is its placements. It has a 100% placement rate, and the placement director, Mr. Jasjit Singh Mahon is the bright star guiding the whole process.
  • The university has collaborated with many experts from the industry, who visit as guest lecturers.
  • The overall fees are quite affordable as well and include hostel charges too.

The general profile of the colleges and some faculty members might be a disappointment to some but that doesn't tarnish the reputation of the university.

Civil engineering, in particular, is now considered a saturated field of study. There are far too many colleges and institutes that offer civil engineering programs, but the majority of them are subpar. As a result, many people were skeptical of the newcomer Presidency Institute, but they have all been pleasantly surprised. They have a strong civil engineering program, and students have responded positively.

Civil engineering is a course offered by the School of Engineering. They also offer a variety of other courses that are popular among students. They teach the most recent curriculum as well as the most recent technologies and practices.

How is Presidency University, Bangalore?

AS
Arjun Singh Posted On : May 17th, 2021
B.Tech in computer science from Presidency University Bangalore (2021)

Presidency University, Bangalore doesn’t seem to be a very good option for students, according to most reviews available on the internet. The points below are some key highlights that a candidate needs to know before opting for a degree from Presidency University.

  • Presidency University is a private and autonomous institute, which runs on its own rules. There are some major problems that students have to face if they go out of track in the institute, including year lag in certain cases.
  • There are some good faculties in the university, but the peers inside the class are not so good as to indulge in research-based or other value-added works. There is a strict rule of 75% attendance which creates a lot of heckling. Students failing to complete the attendance quota are given year lag or made to repeat semesters.
  • There are a lot of strict rules in the university, like in schools. Some of them include no spending class hours in the canteen, no roaming around, ID is a must, only formals on weekdays, Rs. 1000 fine for the use of mobile phones, etc. The securities are pretty strict with these rules.
  • The canteen is costly. Even students can’t leave the campus before the day ends, so no way to get good food. The hostel is also not satisfactory in terms of food and its strict rules. No music can be played after 10 PM.
  • Due to the remote location of the university, there is no good place for food. The closest place is 6-8 km away from the campus. This makes the student's life uncomfortable.
  • In terms of education, the institute has some excellent faculties, who help students in every aspect, from teaching to personal problems. They are quite friendly. But, even though having such good faculty, students first need to tolerate the strict rules and be genuinely interested in the subjects.
  • The only good thing about the university is its infrastructure, which is excellent and quite fancy. It is like a deceptive appearance.
  • The overall emphasis of the university is on 75% attendance and 5+CGPA, but not on good quality education and research which is actually necessary.

These are a few disadvantages to be very clear that a student faces after stepping into the campus of Presidency University, Bangalore, which makes it not a good choice for engineering.
