Which college is better for PGDM Finance SIESCOM or N L Dalmia, XIME, Bangalore or NDIM, New Delhi or UBS, Mumbai?

TA

You can consider XIME Bangalore as your first choice, then SIESCOM and NL Dalmia as your second and third choices, respectively. It is better not to consider NDIM or USB since they are bad at academics and placement support.

XIME has a decent placement package, a good academic history, well-equipped classrooms, a resourceful atmosphere, and experienced scholars.

So, take a wise decision, and all the best for your future.

Studied at SRFTI Kolkata (2018)

One of my friends studied at SIBM and according to him, the college is known for its placements. Small batches and teaching standards. They only accept SNAP scores.

Although both NIDM and SIBM Hyderabad are very good management institutions you should choose SIBM Hyderabad because of the following reasons:

  • They provide a compulsory 8 weeks of the internship program.
  • They have collaborated with Dauphine University, Berlin school of economics, Flensburg University, Hochschule Bremen, LISBON School of Economics & Management. This collaboration gives you immense exposure.
  • The infrastructure is good. The whole campus, hostels are wifi enabled with world-class facilities.
  • The college is located in the industrial area of Hyderabad and is also an industrial hub.
  • The faculty members are also very good. They make more use of case studies, group discussions, simulations, lab tutorials, seminars, and workshops to make students understand, learn and gain practical exposure.
  • The curriculum is designed as per the industry’s needs.
  • There are various kinds of extracurricular activities in the college.

Which college should I prefer among Jaipuria Lucknow, NDIM, JIMS, Asia Pacific, IMS Jaypee Business School, IMS Ghaziabad, and ITM Navi Mumbai? I've got a call for GDPI.

Based on your education as an alumnus of JIMS Rohini (PGDM) and IMS (BBA), and your work experience of 7 years in the skill development sector for higher education in India, you are qualified to answer this question.

It is important to note that the colleges you mentioned are considered to be 'Tier 4 & Tier 5' B-Schools, meaning they are below average in comparison to other B-Schools. The median package offered at these schools is typically around 3-4 LPA with faculty that may not be as competent as those at higher-ranked institutions.

When comparing these institutes, you will find that they charge similar academic fees, but the placement opportunities and international placements they advertise may not always be attainable. Investing 7-8 LPA or more in an unstable job that pays less than half of the fees you paid for your education may not be a wise decision. Additionally, obtaining an MBA from these institutions is not only a financial investment but also an investment of your time and efforts.

For a better return on investment, it is recommended to attempt the CAT exam and try to get into the IIMs or FMS, as opposed to institutions like JIMS Rohini, Jaipuria Institute of Management Noida, or Asia Pacific.

In conclusion, it is not recommended to pursue an MBA from these colleges. A better option may be to invest the money into a fixed deposit or start your own business.

Which one is better, IMS Noida or NDIM Tughlakabad?

AC
Abhishek Chawla Posted On : March 10th, 2023
MBA from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (2017)

My friend is a student at IMS Noida and based on her experience, I have entailed various pros and cons of the institute

Pros

  • IMS Noida is one of the premier colleges in Delhi NCR.
  • Faculties are very emphatic and guide you throughout
  • The pictures of the Institute do justice to the beautiful campus
  • IMS placements are pretty decent. The highest salary package offered was 7 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 2.9 LPA. The average salary package offered was 4 LPA. Top recruiters for our course are Amazon, Sony and Deloitte.
  • The crowd quality is also better than the previous batches.

Cons

  • The regularity of faculties is a big issue as many of them tend to leave the college mid-semester
  • No sports culture is promoted
  • When compared to the facilities, the fees are not justifiable
  • No air-conditioned classrooms
  • The exams are scheduled much later than other colleges.

Which college is better for a PGDM in Marketing, IMS Ghaziabad or NDIM Tughlakhabad?

AJ

To achieve a strong professional profile, it is recommended that you aim for a MAT score of 97 or above, or take the MAT exam again for the best results. Additionally, having a valid license for a two-wheeler may be beneficial for a sales profile, but it's best to confirm this with the placement officer.

In the event that you cannot reach the desired MAT tier, building a LinkedIn profile and connecting with alumni who have worked in sales profiles may provide insight into job stability and average take-home salary. Keep in mind that the success of a few students, even if they are featured in promotional posters, may not accurately reflect the experiences of the entire student body.

It's also important to consider placement quality, stability, and job sustainability when evaluating institutions. For instance, with a high student intake, NDIM may not necessarily guarantee quality placements. Checking LinkedIn for reviews from alumni may offer a more accurate perspective.

Lastly, be mindful when considering IMS G as there have been reports of dissatisfaction with placements among current and former students. It may be wise to consult LinkedIn for reviews and make an informed decision, as the investment in your education is significant.

Both NDIM and BIMTECH B Schools share a similar geographic benefit in that they are close to the corporate hubs of Delhi NCR. They also both have strong professors and infrastructure. BIMTECH, however, outperforms NDIM due to its good employer outlook, reputation, and highly active placement cell, which annually provides more than 50% of internship offers and excellent placements. As a result, you could prefer BIMTECH over NDIM.

First, you should decide what kind of Finance job you want after your graduation. This will make choosing the right institute a little easier.

Core finance: This includes job profiles such as the following.

  • Investment banking
  • Risk management
  • Asset management
  • Derivative analysis
  • Law – taxation
  • Auditor
  • Treasury management
  • Market research Ex:- Mergers & Acquisition, Actuary

Financial products sales - This includes job profiles as the following.

Get in touch with the alumni of the institutes via Linkedin or other social media platforms and get to know about the job profiles, in-hand salary, job sustainability, etc. Based on what I heard from my friends, I will say Kirloskar, PIMBA are better than NDIM.

What should I choose between IILM Lodhi Road and NDIM?

AM
Ankit Mishra Posted On : April 27th, 2022
MBA/PGDM Marketing & Operations, IILM Gurgaon

IILM Lodhi Road is the better choice. The small batch size, well-designed curriculum, and good placements are some of the reasons why you should choose the institute.

  • IILM Lodhi Road has a compact batch size. Due to this each student get the required attention and guidance from the faculty through the mentoring program.
  • The curriculum followed by the institute is updated and market-driven. IILM Lodhi Road curriculum is inspired by the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Wharton Business School, and IIM Ahmedabad.
  • The campus has a centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. If you have a good idea for a start-up, you will get resources and support from the centre.
  • The institute has a good placement record. IILM Lodhi Road average package is around INR 6-7 LPA.

NDIM has a huge student intake. Due to the large batch size, students don’t get the required attention from the faculties. The batch size also creates problems for placements.
