In the current employment scenario, there is a high demand for CSE from good Colleges. IIT Bhubaneswar provides good infrastructure for CSE. It also holds an excellent placement record for the CSE branch in the past placement drives. Adding to that there is plenty of good training exposure and internship possibilities. The placement for MSc.-PhD in Atmosphere and Sciences at IIT Bhubaneswar is not that impressive. Although the overall placement at this IIT is quite decent and the placement rate is around 90% with an average CTC of 11.4 LPA. But the placement statistics for the M.Sc courses are not good. Only a few teaching institutes visit the campus during the placement drive recruiting students mainly from courses like Mathematics and Physics, etc.

The department of Atmosphere and Sciences at IIT Bhubaneswar is still developing and there is a shortage of faculty members in this department but there are visiting faculties from the different institutes.

Yes, hostels are provided to M.TECH students at IIT Bhubaneswar, Earlier, both these hostels were outside the main campus of IIT Bhubaneswar because the campus was still being constructed. From 2019 July onwards IIT Bhubaneswar gives accommodations to MTech students in the permanent campus in Argul. Two new hostels came up last year with the names Brahmaputra Hall of Residence and Ganga Hall of Residence. The Brahmaputra Hall of residence accommodates all the boys from MTech, MSc, and Ph.D. branches to go along with the BTech first-year boys and the Ganga Hall of Residence accommodates all the girls. Each MTech student has his/her separate rooms inside the hostel and the hostel is equipped with all the facilities ranging from washing machines for laundry to the gymnasium.

Thermal engineering is among the most aspiring specialization courses in mechanical engineering. The mechanical engineering department from IIT Bhubaneswar has good faculties, hence academically you don’t have to worry. There are numerous research areas in which thermal engineering professors are working.

Moreover, you will get an equal opportunity from any IIT when it comes to Ph.D. or research assistantship from foreign universities in IIT Bhubaneswar. As far as placements are concerned, thermal engineering got 100% placements with 70% of them in industries and 30% in academics. Whereas, there was an overall 69% placement rate from M.Tech courses in 2019. The average placement package offered was 11.4 LPA.

IIT Bhubaneswar ranks 17th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019 Rankings. Civil Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar will be a good choice because it is one of the core engineerings. The institute has a placement percentage of 85% in the field of Civil Engineering. Students in these core engineering programs have received an average annual salary package of 15.8 lakhs per annum. The highest being 43.3 lakhs per annum. Companies like Tata Motors, TATA Steel, TATA Advanced Systems, L&T Pvt. Ltd., L&T Construction, etc have visited the campus for placement drive.

IIT Delhi ranks 2nd in the Engineering category by NIRF 2019 Rankings. Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology in IIT Delhi has a significant role that was played by biochemical engineers and biotechnologists in future industrial development of biotechnology-related processes. Today, the Department provides a structure for an integrated approach towards education, research, and development of various bioprocesses. For MTech, the students must have a BTech in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering.

Biotechnology from IIT is a good option but there is not much scope in India but has more abroad. A student requires a good CGPA and maintains a good CV to land up a good consultancy job or admission at top MBA colleges. It is a five-year course and requires 1 extra year to complete BTech, unlike other Engineering programs. Placements are better abroad than in India and you can receive an average annual salary package of 7 lakhs per annum. The highest salary was 30-40 lakhs per annum.

So a civil Engineering from IIT Bhubaneswar will be better for future to secure a job than Biotechnology from IIT Delhi.

BITS is the better choice among all as CSE has more scope than ECE. And NIT Surathkal is an old institute with a better placement record than IIT Bhubaneswar. 

Since BITS Hyderabad is the newest among all other campuses and it certainly is a little behind in terms of faculty, infrastructure, etc. But when compared on a national level it is on par with any other institute. It provides the students with a prime location to look for internships and also provides an edge to them if they are opting for off-campus placements. Although the institute provides students with decent opportunities for on-campus placements also. Around 200 companies visit the campus each year and around 94% of the student secured a job through campus placements with an average package of around 5-6 lakhs per annum and the highest package offered was as high as 14 lakhs per annum.

NIT Surathkal is among the top NITs of this country. The placements of students of this branch are also good although NIT Trichy and Warangal have better placement records. The average placement package offered at this NIT is around 14.15 LPA and 100% placement was observed for B.Tech batches in last year’s placement drive.

ECE is one of the new branches that started at IIT Bhubaneswar starting from 2016. Hence the first batch of students will graduate in 2020. In 2019, the average CTC offered in this IIT was 11.44 LPA. Many core companies, software companies, PSU’s, etc. hire electrical engineers from IIT Bhubaneswar hence one can assume the same trend to be followed for electronics and communication engineering also but the result is yet to be seen.
