As an institute, IIT Madras is much ahead of IIT Bhubaneswar, as it is one of the oldest and reputed IITs. But electrical engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar is quite good and offers many opportunities. The institute also has very impressive placement stats. In the year 2019, around 86% of students got placed from the Electrical engineering branch. The official average package for the batch 2017 as released by the institute (IIT Bhubaneswar) for Electrical Engineering was 8.5 LPA. A good number of core companies, software companies and PSU’s hire Electrical Engineers (EE) from IIT Bhubaneswar.
Also, Chemical engineering is a great branch with many prospects. Companies like O&G, Chemical Research firms- for both India & abroad visit regularly for placements.
