How is the MBA course at Delhi school of economics?
Delhi School of Economics is a decent Business School. It offers two MBA programs, i.e. International Business and Human Resource Development. DSE boasts of a brilliant faculty base.
The course fee is low and hence the ROI is pretty good. Delhi School of Economics MBA fees is around INR 23,500. While the average CTC offered is INR 10.57 LPA.
As a student of DSE, you get to make use of the excellent facilities available at DU North campus.
What is your review of K L University?
K L University, Vijayawada is an average university at best. The student intake is huge. But the institute doesn’t have sufficient facilities and resources to support the huge student intake. They advocate strict rules and regulations, which may seem unnecessary at times. The faculty base is not good. But you can meet a few extraordinary professors who are helpful and passionate about teaching. Although K L University advertises 100% placements, it’s not entirely true. Everyone doesn’t get placed. The average CTC offered in placements stands around INR 4.78 LPA.
How will you describe life at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC)?
Life at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is amazing for all the students. MAMC has a strict academic routine with frequent examinations, projects, Objective Structured Practical Examination (OSPE), and tutorials keeping students busy and alert for all academic activities. However, education is a balance of both academics and co-curricular activities.
MAMC has a huge green campus that creates a stress-free environment for students. The campus also has a stationery store, grocery store and Coffee Kiosk on campus for students to relax and shop or for their midnight hunger pangs. MAMC also has a playground and encourages students to actively participate in physical activities. Students are also encouraged to participate in inter & intro college fests to showcase their talents.
Students can have a wonderful 5 years with their peers and friendly seniors at MAMC and make their stay on campus worthwhile and memorable for their life. The connections you make at MAMC with peers and alumni are for life and will help you both personally and in your professional career as well.
What are the bad things about Amity University Noida?
Some of my friends graduated from Amity University Noida. Following are the few things they complain about.
- Everyone is required to maintain a minimum attendance of 75%. Anyone who is unable to do so is barred from appearing in the examinations.
- Other than the course work students are required to study subjects like Environmental Studies, FBL, Behavior Science, etc. They have to give examinations for these courses as well. It adds extra stress. Often teachers aren’t interested in teaching these subjects as well.
- There is no mess system. Even if you are a hosteller you will have to pay for breakfast, lunch, dinner daily.
- Other than CSE, the placement scenario isn’t good. Only a few mass recruiters visit the campus placement.
- A pointer system is used to analyze and calculate marks. Your actual mark will get reduced in this pointer scale system.
Is it true that XLRI does not consider past academics for admission?
Past Academics are not just mere parameters for admission but they evaluate your consistency in performing well across various academic stages. This signifies your flexibility to adapt and maintain a consistent result. Thus a well-maintained and stable academic record ensures your competency and is given more importance than inconsistency in your academic profile.
Most B-School consider past academic records to ensure the student’s ability to give consistently good results. XLRI too is one such institute, the only difference being that initial shortlisting is not done on that basis. This enables candidates with a valid reason for average past academics to justify their profile. In fact, their justification can even convince the panelists to consider them over other candidates with better past academic records.
The reason I am so confident about this is that my sister told me her batchmates comprised both; students with excellent past academic records and students with below-average academic records. These students managed to seek admission by performing excellently in the post-written process.
So, XLRI does consider past academics but not for initial shortlisting and the overall weightage given to academics is comparatively less than other B schools.
How are the placements at Manipal University Jaipur?
Manipal University has an impressive placement of 85% for the recent year. The college prepares the student for placement activities and it is handled by Training Placement Cell. The college also offers internship opportunities in various industries like JCB, Siemens, Birla Soft, Mahindra, and a lot more. According to the NIRF ranking 2020, the university is in the rank band 151th-200th. The placement activities are held during the month of December every year.
Recruiters:
- A total of 500 companies visited the college which includes Amazon, Dell, Accenture, American Express, Wipro, Yamaha, Tata Power, and a lot more. All these companies fall under the category of Fortune recruiters.
- Companies like Oracle, Philips, Infosys, Axis Bank, TCS, Khaitan, and company, and a lot more, come under the category of prominent recruiters.
- The best part is the college has industrial collaborations with Microsoft IT Academy, IBM & Cisco research lab, Dell, Secure Meter, BOSCH, and INTEL Association. These collaborations help students to have hands-on practical learning through internships.
- Final year students have to go under 8 to 9 months of rigorous placement training and internships to work with real-life applications.
Training Placement Cell:
- A group consisting of well-experienced faculties train the final year students for the placement process.
- Students are asked to prepare their resume, have to practice on aptitude and reasoning, develop basic English language. The process slowly begins in the 6th semester.
- The cell also prepares students for higher studies like CAT, GATE, and GRE.
- Ericsson Campus Connect program for the technical enhancement of ECE students. The college has 4 placement officers and 1 executive officer.
Placement trends:
- 20% of the students were offered a package of more than INR 20 lakh, a total of 1069 students registered for the placement process, of which 803 students were placed.
- The highest package offered was INR 42.5 lakh, the average package offered was INR 6.20 lakh in the recent year.
- Placement % is increasing every year. That is 80% placement in 2018, and the highest package offered was 27 LPA.
The average package of MBA students is INR 6.8 LPA, which is quite good. Projects are an integral part of the academics at Manipal University, it not only helps in learning but students work with real-life applications. With an overall 85% placement, a student can easily get a job and secure his/her life.
Is it compulsory for IGNOU students to visit study centers regularly?
It is not required at all.
You need to go to the study center to get your books (which are also available at regional centers), submit assignments (which are mandatory), fill out your examination form (which can also be done at regional centers), and attend practical classes (if you have any practical subjects).
In some cases, regular classes are held at the centers for specific courses. They are attended by some of my friends. However, because it is an open university, it is entirely up to you whether or not to attend them.
Are IGNOU materials relevant for the UPSC?
IGNOU Public Administration material is very simple and lucid, covering the majority of the UPSC Public Administration syllabus. Before moving on to books by Mohit Bhattacharya and Administrative Thinkers like Prasad & Prasad, IGNOU material is a good starting point. The same is true for the other subjects. So, if you are reading the subject for the first time, you can go through them to get a basic understanding of it.
It is recommended to read blogs on the subject, consult standard textbooks used for the specific course at university, and, most importantly, form a study group. For serious discussion on topics, this group should stay connected on a messaging platform like Whatsapp and the social media of your choice. If you do this religiously, your IGNOU and UPSC journeys will be smooth and enjoyable!

BIMTECH offers an excellent MBA experience. The faculties are well-experienced and knowledgeable. There’s good scope for peer learning as well.
Campus life is fun. There are many clubs and societies that you can join. There are various events that take place on campus.
Placements are good and depend mostly on the skill of students. BIMTECH placements 2022 concluded with an average CTC of INR 9.19 LPA. While the highest CTC offered was INR 18 LPA.
