Both institutes being IITs are among the best in the country for Computer Science Engineering. Being IITs, both institutes have the same curriculum, fees, and similar infrastructure facilities. However, IIT BHU ranks a touch above its counterpart. Placement packages offered at BHU are also better than Bhubaneshwar, making it the better choice. The choice between the shall also depend on the preferred city.

Both institutions are equally good and reputed so it’s difficult to determine which institute is better. Each year the difference between the previous and current year’s rank is minimal and the cut off is expected to be close. Yes, attendance rule is there in IIT BHU Varanasi. Students are required to maintain a minimum of 85% attendance. If anyone fails to maintain the cut-off attendance, they may have to repeat the subject as professors sometimes award Z grade to students with less than 85% attendance.

But it mostly depends on the professor of that subject. Some professor follows this rule strictly while some may don’t. So, to be safe students should maintain a minimum of 85 percent attendance. It's only for theoretically class, some professor wants 90 percent or above attendance in Lab Classes.
