DTU-
MAIT-
Engineering Physics and EEE are two completely different branches of engineering. The former has more opportunities for higher studies and DTU offers great exposure for that. Many students went on to pursue MS in Ivy League Universities from the course. Whereas EEE has better placement. You should choose the course you are more interested in and the institute according to that.
B.tech. in Civil engineering is a flagship program of DTU. Admission is made on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in Class XII and candidate’s performance in JEE Main/ JEE Advance. The final selection of the program is based on the allocation of seats through Joint Seat Allocation Authority. The four-year program is an amalgamation of courses to help students understand thedesign and construction of various structures like bridges, buildings, roads, tunnels, and dams.
B.tech. in CSis a flagship program at bothUSIT and MAIT. Admission is made on the basis of candidate’s performance in JEE Mainas well as candidates need to sit for theIPUCET examination, which is conducted by the institute. The program is a dual degree course of 6 years, made by integrating B.tech and M.tech in CS.

It isn’t certain that you’ll get NSUT or DTU next year.
Also, if you plan to join some degree program during this year drop, preparing for your entrance will become even more hectic with your college studies. Dropping a year can take a toll on your mental health as well. Moreover, It will be much more disheartening if you are unable to get into DTU or NSUT even after a drop year.
I would personally recommend you join Jamia Hamdard University for your CS.
DTU is one of the best engineering colleges in North India, and its placements are at par with MNNIT Allahabad and NIT Jaipur.

Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Samsung, Zomato, Amazon, BCG, PwD, etc. are some of the companies that make recruitments from DTU.
From these placement figures, it is clear that DTU is a good option for B.Tech in IT and related fields.
Among the best technological universities in India, Delhi Technological University (DTU) is ranked 2nd and 36th by Times Engineering Survey and NIRF respectively whereas out of 300, NIRF has ranked Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology at 250.

These are some of the factors that you need to take into consideration while choosing between the two options. As for which one should you choose, you should be the one to decide that.
ECE and IT are two completely different streams in the field of Engineering and hence, one must go for the stream he/she wants to pursue. However, choosing the right college to build a student’s career is also important. So the following points can be taken into consideration for choosing between IIEST Shibpur and Delhi Technological University(DTU). IIEST Shibpur is ranked 20th in India by NIRF / MHRD in the Year 2019. Whereas, DTU presently ranks 62 by the NIRF.
Cut-off: Both the institute takes admission based on a valid score in JEE Main followed by Joint Admission Counselling.
At IIEST Shibpur the JEE MAIN cut-off rank for taking admissions in IT was 9524 - 17031 in 2019.
At DTU the cut-off rank in ECE was 22258, in the same year.
Fees:
At DTU the average fees per year are 1.95 lakhs.
For IIEST Shibpur the average fees per year are 1.37 lakhs.
Thus in terms of fees, BTech in IIEST Shibpur costs less than that of DTU.
Placement:
Headed by a Renowned Ex IIT Director, IIEST Shibpur got the highest placement record of 75% in IT, last year. It witnessed the highest salary package of INR 39.12 LPA.
Whereas, 170 out of 192 that is 88.5% of students got placed in ECE in DTU. The highest salary for B.Tech ECE during the last placement was INR 39 LPA.
So, DTU is much ahead in terms of placements.
You can apply for any of the two colleges keeping in mind the above-mentioned comparisons. DTU and IIEST Shibpur are the two most renowned colleges in India. However, IIEST is ranked higher and offers better placement than DTU. Nevertheless, the first thing that you have to consider is which stream you want to study and then decide a college depending upon that. Now, if you haven't decided anything and is confused between the above two streams, then studying IT at IIEST Shibpur is a better option.
Among these, IIEST Shibpur is better. It has maintained a good placement record over the years. IIEST Shibpur placements in 2022 ended with the highest CTC of INR 45 LPA. More than 1022 recruiting companies took part in the placement drive and made 776 job offers.
It has an active research interface. If you are interested in pursuing research projects, IIEST is the right place for you. Students of the institute get accepted into IVY league schools for higher studies.
So students are even doing internships from 1st year too. So there is nothing like that you will get internship in 3rd year. If you have skills then you will get it. Major companies likes Google Microsoft Amazon etc are visiting this college for placements and internships. Around 86% students got placed this year. My plan is to get a tech job after getting degree.
The faculty till now is very nicee and helpful. If you come up with your doubts they are motivated enough to help you solve them. They provide you with all teh material required for your exams. Sameer Sir is one of my favourite teachers who explained all the concepts in a very fun way, this semester would have been hard to cover if he was not there.
In the college you come across various societies, some provide actual value to you and help you enhancing your skills as well as proove to be academically beneficial but there are a few societies which will take a lot of your time but proove to be a waste. It is important to test the waters and choose the right society and get out of the useless ones asap
