Should I go for B.Sc (Hons.) Nursing in AIIMS Delhi or B.Sc Nursing in KGMU?

L
LunarLadyfinger Posted On : April 17th, 2026

AIIMS Delhi offers a unique advantage with its integrated six-month internship that takes place in its own hospital, allowing students to gain hands-on experience and a stipend of around Rs 13,000, which is a significant boost to practical training. The pathway to becoming a nursing officer through the NORCET exam further enhances job prospects for graduates. KGMU, while also providing a B.Sc Nursing program, lacks the same level of structured internship opportunities and renowned hospital connections that AIIMS offers. If you're aiming for better job prospects and practical experience, AIIMS Delhi would be the better choice; however, if you're looking for a more traditional nursing education, KGMU could still serve you well.

Is choosing AIIMS Delhi MBBS over Lady Hardinge Medical College MBBS a good decision? Is MBBS in AIIMS Delhi worth the fees

G
GroovyGooseberry Posted On : April 16th, 2026

Choosing MBBS from AIIMS Delhi over Lady Hardinge Medical College is definitely a significant decision! Here’s why:

  • World-Class Faculty: AIIMS Delhi boasts some of the best faculty in the country. You’ll be learning from experts in various fields.
  • Resources: The resources available at AIIMS are top-notch. This includes access to advanced technology and facilities.
  • Clinical Exposure: You’ll get unparalleled clinical exposure. This is crucial for hands-on learning and real-world experience.
  • Research Opportunities: There are chances to engage in research on an international platform. This can enhance your academic profile.

However, it’s important to note that getting into AIIMS requires a genius-level mindset and immense hard work. Students who make it there are not only intelligent but also incredibly dedicated.

Now, students in other AIIMS-like institutes are also bright and carry the AIIMS tag, which is globally recognized. But they may not receive the same depth of learning as at AIIMS Delhi.

Then, there are those studying in top-tier colleges like KGMU, MAMC, and AFMC. They’re also pursuing their dreams and have a fair chance of success.

Lastly, students in average colleges may feel a mix of emotions. Some are content with securing a college seat, while others might regret not making it to their dream college but couldn’t try again for various reasons.

These are just my personal opinions!

Which one should I opt for AIIMS Delhi Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or KGMU M.B.B.S.

I
IronIrisIllusion Posted On : April 13th, 2026

AIIMS Delhi clearly stands out when it comes to internships and career outcomes. The medical internship begins in the 5th year, offering students hands-on experience with seasoned doctors and access to state-of-the-art equipment, plus a lucrative stipend of around Rs.30,000, which is among the highest in the country. KGMU, while reputable, doesn’t quite match the extensive clinical exposure and resources available at AIIMS. The curriculum at AIIMS also emphasizes a high level of clinical training from early on, making graduates more competitive in the job market. If you're aiming for an exceptional medical career with robust internship opportunities, AIIMS Delhi is the better choice; however, if you prefer a more relaxed environment and a solid education, KGMU can still be a good fit.

Which one should I opt for AIIMS Delhi B.Sc Operation Theatre Technology or PGIMER Chandigarh B.Sc Nursing

It’s straightforward: your main goal is to secure a job. Hospitals need more nurses than any other healthcare professionals like doctors, anesthetists, lab technicians, or pharmacists. So, I personally recommend going for nursing. Plus, you can always upgrade your qualifications later and pursue a career as a doctor from there!

Is choosing AIIMS Delhi MBBS over KGMU MBBS a good decision? Is MBBS in AIIMS Delhi worth the fees

S
SyntheticSunsetSoul Posted On : April 6th, 2026

AIIMS Delhi clearly stands out when you compare it to KGMU for MBBS. The fees at AIIMS are ridiculously low at around Rs.5,856 for five years, while KGMU's fees can be significantly higher, impacting the overall financial burden. With AIIMS, you also get a top-notch curriculum, extensive clinical exposure from the 5th year, and a generous stipend of Rs.30,000 during your internship, giving you excellent ROI. Plus, the campus life and faculty credentials at AIIMS are hard to beat. If you can get into AIIMS Delhi, it's definitely a smarter financial choice, especially if you're serious about a career in medicine. KGMU might be a decent option if you live nearby and prefer a different environment, but for the best value for money, AIIMS is the clear winner.

What is the reputation of AIIMS Delhi in New Delhi for studying B.Sc (Nursing)??

C
CyberCircle Posted On : April 4th, 2026

Studying B.Sc (Nursing) at AIIMS Delhi has been a fulfilling experience for me. We get hands-on training very early on, which is a huge plus. The internship is part of the course and lasts for six months, and we actually get to earn around Rs 13,000 during that time. The hostel facilities are decent too, with basic amenities provided. While I find some parts of the curriculum a bit irrelevant, the overall learning experience is worthwhile, especially with the opportunity to become a nursing officer after passing the NORCET exam.

Is it worth doing an MBBS at AIIMS Delhi if my main goal is to land a high-paying job??

It really depends on the specialty chosen for PG.

  • Many PGs end up teaching in medical colleges or working in hospitals.
  • The reality is, they often can't lead a lavish lifestyle.
  • They have to be content with the salary they receive.

So, if a high-paying job is your main goal, consider your specialty carefully!

StarlightRebel Posted On : April 4th, 2026

I have not worked in any theatre in India without an anaesthesia technician. They are definitely needed in established corporate hospitals or any large medical facility.

  • Smaller hospitals may not hire technicians to cut costs.
  • Yes, the pay isn't very high, but people are managing their households on that salary.
