ECE is one of the new branches at IIT Bhubaneswar. The first batch of ECE will be out in 2020. Before 2016, electrical engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar was a combination of two streams EEE and ECE. After 2016, both of these courses were divided and a good number of core and software companies hired electrical engineers from IIT Bhubaneswar. The average placement package offered in 2019 was 11 LPA.
On the other hand, IIIT Hyderabad has witnessed domestic and international placement offers in 2020. There was a huge growth in the placement package from top recruiters namely Adobe, Google, Uber, Amazon, etc. The highest package offered in the year 2020 was 46 LPA and the average package was 21 LPA. A total of 117 companies visited the campus with 289 students getting placed in reputed companies. The students from the CSE department of IIIT Hyderabad received more placements than other sectors with an average package of 26 LPA. The students graduating with CLD can follow a career path in research and in top technology companies.
So, among these two, IIIT-H CLD has a slight edge over IIT Bhubaneswar ECE.
NIT Trichy for B.Tech in Chemical Engineering offers solid placements with a 100% placement rate in the branch, and companies like Google and Microsoft frequently hire there, often with high packages. In comparison, IIIT Hyderabad's B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering also boasts impressive internship opportunities with high-profile companies, but the specifics on their placement percentage aren't as clear. While both colleges provide excellent education and good job prospects, NIT Trichy edges out a bit more with its strong placement stats and alumni support. If you're leaning towards tech and software, IIIT Hyderabad could be a great fit; otherwise, if you're interested in chemical engineering and want guaranteed placements, NIT Trichy is the way to go.
NIT Trichy offers a solid ROI with a fee structure around 2 lakhs per year, which is competitive given the average 90% placement rate and top companies like Google and Microsoft recruiting from there. In contrast, IIIT Hyderabad, while known for its strong tech curriculum and high-quality placements, typically has higher fees and a more niche focus, which may not provide the same breadth of opportunities across various industries. Scholarships at NIT Trichy further ease financial burdens, making it a better choice for those seeking value for money.
If you want a well-rounded education with good placement opportunities and manageable costs, NIT Trichy is the smarter financial choice. However, if you're particularly interested in a specialized tech career and can handle the higher fees, then IIIT Hyderabad might be worth considering.
NIT Trichy for Chemical Engineering and IIIT Hyderabad for Computer Science both offer solid programs, but when it comes to fees and return on investment, NIT Trichy stands out. The total cost at NIT Trichy is around 2 lakhs per year, with a 100% placement rate, and top companies like Google and Microsoft offering packages as high as 55 lakhs. In contrast, IIIT Hyderabad, while also prestigious, typically has a higher fee structure and may not guarantee the same level of placement success, especially in Chemical Engineering.
If you want a smart financial choice with excellent ROI, NIT Trichy is the better option, particularly if you're interested in a secure future in tech. However, if your passion lies in computer science and you can handle potentially higher costs, IIIT Hyderabad offers unique opportunities.
IIT Delhi for B.Tech in Civil Engineering offers a solid academic environment with highly qualified faculty and a strong focus on self-learning, but the campus life may feel a bit traditional compared to the vibrant atmosphere at IIIT Hyderabad. IIIT Hyderabad, on the other hand, is known for its cutting-edge Computer Science curriculum, excellent tech placements, and a lively campus culture with student-run clubs and events, making it a great choice for those looking to dive into the tech world. If you’re passionate about engineering and prefer a well-rounded campus experience, IIT Delhi is a good pick, but if you’re inclined towards computer science and want a more dynamic college life, IIIT Hyderabad stands out.
I believe you should lean towards CSE at IIIT Hyderabad! After four years, your branch will significantly impact your future career.
However, this is ultimately your decision.
So, consider the following:
Choose what feels right for you!
Career-wise, you should consider DTU/NSIT; there are plenty of opportunities there. However, if you want the IIT tag for pursuing an MBA or MS, that name carries weight.
IMPORTANT:
The reality today is that for a high-paying job, you need to be good at coding, and that's it. At IIT, you can sit for placements with any company, regardless of your branch, but that's not the case at DTU/NSIT.
In IIT, you get a better peer group compared to DTU. There are many OBC, SC, ST, and PWD students, and a significant portion of the college is reserved for these categories. Many students also have questionable certifications, so you can expect a varied peer group.
IIT Delhi is the number one college in India, and in many aspects, it's superior to DTU/NSIT.
If I were in your position, I would definitely choose IIT Delhi over DTU/NSIT.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech program in Chemical Engineering offers strong placement opportunities, with 85% of students getting jobs through top recruiters like Amazon and Google, and the starting packages are generally higher compared to IIIT Hyderabad. While IIIT Hyderabad is renowned for its focus on IT and software fields, IIT Delhi's diverse curriculum and robust industry connections provide a broader range of career pathways. Both colleges come with their own unique advantages, but if you're looking for more diverse placement options and a well-rounded college experience, IIT Delhi is definitely worth the fees. However, if you're inclined towards a tech-centric career in a vibrant startup ecosystem, IIIT Hyderabad could be a better fit for you.
IIT Delhi's B.Tech in Chemical Engineering offers a solid foundation in engineering with strong placement opportunities, boasting an 85% placement rate and recruiters like Amazon and Google, which is impressive. On the flip side, IIIT Hyderabad’s B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering is also highly regarded, especially in the tech sector, but the specific placement stats are less detailed. Given that tech jobs are soaring and the demand for software engineers is high, if you’re leaning towards a lucrative career in the IT sector, IIIT Hyderabad might give you an edge. However, if you have a passion for chemical engineering and want to explore diverse sectors, IIT Delhi is a great choice. Ultimately, if you value a broader engineering approach with strong placement options, go for IIT Delhi; if you’re focused on tech and coding, IIIT Hyderabad may be the better fit.
IIIT-H is relatively new compared to IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay, being just 15 years old. However, placements at IIIT-H have shown significant promise in recent years. Students have been successfully placed in several top-tier companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Facebook, and more. Given enough time, IIIT-H could potentially surpass many IITs in terms of placements.
