What are the placement scenarios for B.Com (Hons.) students at Chandigarh University?

As per the First Review, students become eligible for placements from 4th semester onwards. Around 30 companies visited the campus to hire B.Com (Hons.) students and the highest package stood at INR 5 Lakhs annually. Around 20% of students got placements. Moreover, the Second Review also mentions that students are eligible for placements from the 4th semester. Students have to enrol in TPP for placement opportunities and companies like Wipro, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, PWC, TCS, and Deloitte hire B.Com (Hons.) students. A total of 2,100 job offers were made by various companies and the highest package stood at INR 10 Lakhs annually and the average package offered was INR 4 Lakhs per annum. Approximately, 90% of students got placements in the B.Com (Hons.) batch. According to the Third Review, students can also apply for off-campus placements. The university offers an internship opportunity to students in the college itself. Around 30% of students get placements in the commerce department.

In summary, Chandigarh University offers good placement opportunities for B.Com (Hons.) students. However, most of the students choose to pursue higher studies for a better placement package.

As per the mixed reviews of Chandigarh University BCA students, companies like Google, Microsoft, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Deloitte, Reliance, Byju’s, and Capgemini, hire students for full-time job opportunities. 

One of the reviews mentioned that the highest package offered by Google to a BCA student was INR 1 Crore per annum and around 90% of students got placements. Students become eligible for placements during the final year and the average package offered is around INR 5 Lakhs per annum.

How are the placements for B.Sc. Biotechnology at Chandigarh University?

According to the First Review, Biotechnology students become eligible for placements from 5th semester onwards. The minimum package starts from INR 13,000 to INR 15,000 per month and the maximum salary offered ranges from INR 40,000 to INR 50,000 every month. Additionally, as per the second review, companies like Biocon, Bharat Biotech, and Serum visit the campus to hire students from the Biotechnology department. Around 40% of students get placements. Moreover, the third review mentions that three companies having an average package of INR 4 LPA to INR 7 LPA have approached a CU Biotechnology student. 

In summary, Chandigarh University offers good placement opportunities for B.Sc. Biotechnology students. However, the university does not offer paid internships for B.Sc. students.

Is it compulsory for students to wear uniform daily at Chandigarh University?

Wearing a proper uniform daily at Chandigarh University depends on the academic course opted by the student. In the case of courses like Hotel Management, Airlines & Airport Management, Law, etc., it’s compulsory to wear a proper uniform as per the program requirement. For all other courses students are required to wear and follow the Formal Dress Code as recommended by the University only on Wednesdays. 

It is mandatory to purchase uniforms from campus. They are available within the campus and can be purchased at the beginning of your classes. It is highly recommended that students avoid buying their uniforms from stores off campus.

The uniform for boys & girls is the same. The winter uniform comprises of navy blue college blazer and steel grey trousers with a college tie. Wearing a turban for Sikh boys is compulsory. Patkas & caps and half pants are not permitted in the college and are considered as an act of indiscipline. All students must wear proper uniforms during workshops & seminars.

The course requires you to have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with at least 50% marks in aggregate as well as in Psychology.
