It depends on how passionate you are in either of the fields. If your interest lies in Chemical engineering, you cannot go wrong with BITS Goa. Being ranked 30th for engineering in India by NIRF 2020. BITS offers a BE degree in Chemical engineering and has a faculty-student ratio of 1:15 with highly qualified and experienced professors.

If you are inclined towards Computer science, PES University must be your priority. Ranked 93 for engineering by NIRF in 2020, PES offers a B.Tech degree in CSE as its flagship course. It has well-experienced and qualified facilities withholding 76 on-campus teaching staff and several visiting professors from National Institutes.

Admission:

BITS Pilani Goa:

• BITS Goa conducts an entrance exam namely BITSAT for admission in BE.
• For admission in the Chemical engineering branch, 254 was the closing score in BITSAT 2019.
• The branch offers only 60 seats, thus making the process highly competitive.

PES University:

• Besides accepting K-CET and JEE main test scores, PES University conducts its own entrance exam- PESSAT for B.tech admission.
• KCET rank under 450 andwas considered as a cutoff for B.tech CSE admission in the first round previous year.
• A rank under 600 in PESSAT can also fetch a seat in the CSE branch at PESU.

Placement statistics:

BITS Goa:

• Overall 160+ companies worldwide participate in the recruitment process every year. Top recruiters include Amazon, IBM, TCS, Maruti Suzuki, Accenture.
• Placement rate is around 50-60% with 30 students being placed this year with an average CTC of 7.5LPA
• Core companies visiting the campus are very few which includes Schlumberger, Cairn, Exxonmobil, UOP Honeywell, Shell.
• Highest CTC offered to date for the CE branch is 15LPA.

PES University:

• 100+ companies participated in the campus recruitment process in 2020.
• 11 students were placed from the CSE branch in Microsoft this year, with an average CTC of 39.2 LPA.
• Top recruiters in recent years include Accenture, Amazon, Bosch, HCL, HP.
• 851 students were placed in campus recruitment this year with an average CTC of 7LPA.
• The highest domestic CTC offered in 2020 for a CSE student is 48LPA by Atlassian.
• CSE department at PES University holds the record of the maximum number of placements to date with the current placement rate being 99.14%

Both BITS and PESU are prestigious Institutes in India that offer quality education. The deciding factor here is the field in which you dream to build your career. It is to be mentioned that opportunity is quite less for Chemical engineering students when compared to CSE at BITS or anywhere in India in general. But if you are passionate about the subject you should go for it.

Having known some people studying in both these institutes, I can say that BITS Goa and NIT Trichy both are excellent institutes when it comes to any branch. But if money is not one of your major problems, you can easily opt for CSE at BITS Goa.

• NIT Trichy is recognized and known as the best NIT overall. 
• BITS Goa is higher than most of the NIT’s and IIT’s. 
• The only drawback of BITS Goa is that the fees are a lot.
• For the CSE branch, I would definitely recommend BITS Goa. 
• BITS Goa would be the better option available as it is famous for its CSE department and also because of lots of events and activities it conducts. 
• In BITS Goa you can join the various events conducted and explore your skills and study at the same time. 
• In NIT Trichy academics is given more importance. 

BITS Goa would bring the perfect balance between things and at last you will still come out with a hefty package.

Both the college you have mentioned are not directly related. There’s nothing in common besides the brand name that they carry. 

Let’s talk about the institutes one by one.

BIMTECH, Greater Noida:

• The name expands to the Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH)
• It is located in the heart of Greater Noida.
• It is a postgraduate business school that offers PGDM courses in various specializations

Jayashree Mohta is BIMTECH’s Chairperson & Dr. H. Chaturvedi is known to be BIMTECH’s Director

BITS Pilani, Goa:

• BITS expands to Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani - K. K. Birla Goa Campus. BITS Pilani has around 3-4 campuses, Goa campus is one of them. Also, you would like to know that Pilani is the main college and is located in Rajasthan.
• It is a technical and science institute for higher education that offers the best courses in B. E., M. Sc., M.E., and Doctoral Programmes

Kumar Mangalam Birla is BITS, Pilani’s Chancellor & Raghuram Gunaje is BITS, Pilani’s Director.

Both of them belong to the same BIRLA Family but were started by different people. BITS Pilani was started by St. G.D. Birla. Whereas BIMTECH was started by Late Syt. B.K. Birla (youngest son of Late G.D. Birla. Hence, both the institutes are different and offer different courses.

First of all, you need to understand what you want. Do you want higher education or a placement? Then ask yourself whether you want only computer science because you love the subject or simply because you want a good placement.

• If you love computer science, then do not worry and join NIT Calicut. You will learn it in an elaborate way and can then pursue a master’s or doctorate degree. 
• The fee at NIT Calicut is also lower than that of BITS Pilani.
• However, if you are like the majority of people who want CSE for placements, then I would suggest you consider BITS Pilani or any of its other campuses. 
• You have to understand that a CSE degree is not compulsory to learn to code. 
• If you join ECE or ENI programs and learn to code yourself. You can easily land a job in any IT company. 
• The salary package you will receive at BITS Pilani (any campus) will be better than that of NIT Calicut.
• The college life of BITS Pilani will also be very good. 
• You will not have the pressure of attendance. 
• There are lots of extra-curricular activities you can participate in also.

ENI and ECE are technically different branches but they are almost the same. Except for the high fee of BITS Pilani, I do not feel BITS Pilani or Goa campus is anything less worthwhile than NIT Calicut. In fact, if you want only placements, then BITS Pilani any campus should be your choice.

First of all, it is not mentioned as BITS Goa, it’s addressed as BPGC, BITS Pilani, or KK Birla Goa campus.

All three campuses of BITS have the same education, same courses, similar leveled faculty team, and the same companies visit the campus to recruit students. Recently, even the placement list is common among the three campuses.

Large scale companies visit the campus for placements including Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Flipkart, LinkedIn, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and many more.

Here is a brief insight into the institute.

The college is not overrated. The college has been ranked among the top engineering colleges overall in Goa by the NIRF. However, ultimately, it’s you who decides if you are successful or not.

The college helps, agreed, but without your zeal to acquire knowledge, broaden your horizon, and enthusiasm to work, you would not reach heights of success.

Every young mind would light up hearing Goa and most of the parents are delusional to send their children to Goa. However, it totally depends on the individual to dodge the culture, activities and on the bright side, the administration is really strict regarding it.

Some of my friends studied at BITS Goa, and according to them if you learn to balance your priorities, it can be a great place of learning for you. There are a lot of places to enjoy but it is not necessary to attend everywhere and every time.

• The campus is really beautiful and has beaches nearby.
• The weather is absolutely fantastic
• Hostel facilities provide single rooms to all the students.
• Zero percent attendance rule.
• Amazing cultural events and fests like WAVES, QUARK, and SPREE take place.
• Peer-to-peer file-sharing system up to 100TB and the speed is around 50MBPS.

If you want you can learn a lot of things, which might help further in the future. Overall the weather in Goa is the best out of all the BITS campuses. There are lots of beaches to visit. Also,

BITS Goa is anytime better than all the NITs in India. The following are the reasons.

• BITS Goa has a huge brand name. It is a Tier-1 engineering college in India.
• The placement of the institute is excellent as compared to VNIT. BITS Goa has an average 90% placement success rate.

• Various top-notch companies come for the campus in BITS like Adobe, Amazon, 159 Solutions, Make My Trip, Maruti Suzuki, ADM Agro, Morning Star, Nvidia Graphics, Oracle, Capgemini, Cisco, Paypal, Siemens, DE Shaw, PwC, Qualcomm, Deutsche Bank Affle India Limited, Bajaj Auto, Mckinsey & Co, Microsoft IDC, Healthcare Technologies, and others.
• The infrastructure of the college is breathtaking. There are various facilities like well-equipped separate hostels and mess for boys and girls, SAC (student activity center) for a wide range of sports, guest accommodation, medical center, central library, computer labs, and different laboratories.

Overall, the fee of BITS Goa is on the higher side. But it is worth paying for its brand name. BITS Goa offers a lot of scope to the students and encourages the holistic development of the individuals. Even the faculty is experienced and helpful.

Both NIT Warangal and BITS Hyderabad/Goa are enormous and well-known colleges. If you choose either of them for a particular field it will be worth it. Just make sure of that in whichever college you are, give your best and you shall lead to success.

Both the colleges stand equally in terms of academics and placement statistics.

• In terms of exposure, opportunities, research and peer interaction in BITS specifically are much more than NIT Warangal.
• BITS embolden you to go for a long project for one semester in your final year in any part of the world. This is the main point of BITS that keeps it ahead of NIT.
• Otherwise, you can experience almost the same in both the colleges in terms of career.
• If you want to experience great college life, full of freedom, industrial exposure, and quality education, you can go for either of them.
• In case you are looking for a good return on your investment, you then have to take the benefits of a government institution.

Further, I would advise you for NIT as it has less fees so there will be less burden on you and your family. Faculties are good in NIT as well. You will get the NIT brand associated with you which is very prestigious.
