New Delhi: XLRI Jamshedpur is conducting the POMS India Chapter Conference 2023 from December 4-6, 2023. The theme of the POMS India Conference for this year is “Envisioning the Future of Operations Affordability.”
Almost 300 participants from across the globe are invited to the conference at XLRI.The aim of the conference is to establish a collaborative platform that brings together scholars and researchers in the field of Production and Operations Management, and related disciplines to exchange research ideas, industry practices, and managerial insights.
The Chief Guests of the event are Mr Avneesh Gupta, Vice President (TQM and Engineering & Projects ), Tata Steel and Chairman of TRF Limited and Mr Rahul Purwar, Secretary, Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Jharkhand.
Father S. George, Director of XLRI, shared that the conference, centered around Production and Operations Management, is a crucial initiative to bring together academics and practitioners for the advancement of technology in the field. He expressed optimism that the program will immensely benefit the future of XLRI and its students, fostering positive changes in production and operations management.
The conference features discussions on three panels, covering topics such as carbon neutrality, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), and the digital supply chain. Prof. Vinod Singhal will conduct a workshop during the conference, contributing to the exploration and understanding of these critical subjects.
XLRI and POMS India Chapter had also invited registrations for paper submission during the event. The registration deadline was October 10, 2023. The participants had to pay a registration fee to confirm registration. The best paper will be presented and awarded during the event.

POMS India Chapter is a vibrant network of academicians and professionals in the POM discipline in India. The purpose of the POMS India chapter is to support the POMS mission to provide a forum for sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas, collaborating on research, improving instructional pedagogy and curriculum, and sharing best business practices among the Production and Operations Management community in India and the global POM community. Further, the chapter aims to contribute to the POMS mission of globalizing the discipline of POM.
